AMD FX-7500
AMD FX-7500 är en strömsnål (ULV-)processor för bärbara datorer. Den har fyra kärnor och är baserad på Kaveri-arkitekturen. Processorn lanserades i juni 2014 och tillverkas av Global Foundries som använder en 28 nm SHP-process. Förutom att ha två CPU-moduler och totalt fyra heltalskärnor med en klockfrekvens från till 2,1 till 3,3 GHz, har AMD-chipet även en integrerad Radeon R7-GPU med en klockfrekvens på upp till 553 MHz och 384 GCN-shaders, samt en minnesstyrenhet för dual-channel DDR3-1600.
Arkitektur
Kaveri är efterföljare till Richland-arkitekturen från 2013 (t.ex. A10-5750M). De reviderade CPU-kärnorna med kodnamnet Steamroller representerar den tredje generationens modulbaserade Bulldozerdesign. En av de större förändringarna är en ny avkodare (nu en per heltalskärna), optimerad branch prediction och större L1 I-cache från 64 kB till 96 kB per modul. Förbättringarna innebär att prestandan per klockcykel är något bättre än en Richland-APU med samma klockfrekvens.
Av klockfrekvensen att döma bör FX-7500 kunna erbjuda en CPU-prestanda i nivå med Ivy Bridge-baserade Intel Core-i3-4100U. Det innebär att den överlag rä fullt tillräcklig för alla vardagliga uppgifter som kontorsprogram, surf och lättare multi-tasking.
Radeon R7 (Kaveri) i FX-7500 har en klockfrekvens på upp till 553 MHz och 384 grafikkärnor/shaders. Eftersom GPU:n bygger på AMD:s GCN 1.1-arkitektur finns stöd för både DirectX 11.2 "Tier 2" och Mantle. Dessutom kan GPU:n användas för allmänna beräkningar i olika program, t.ex. i Adobe Photoshop via OpenCL.
Vad gäller 3D-prestandan bör grafikkretsen vara ungefär lika snabb som ett dedikerat GeForce GT 720M och därför klara många nuvarande (2014) 3D-spel med låga eller medelhöga inställningar och (W)XGA-upplösning.
Strömförbrukning
Strömförbrukningen för hela APU-chippet är 19 watt, vilket är något högre än Intels motsvarigheter i Haswellserien (15 W inkl. chipset). FX-7500 kan trots det användas i små bärbara datorer från 12-13 tum och uppåt.
