AMD Ryzen 5 6600U är en processor för tunna och lätta bärbara datorer baserad på Rembrandt-generationen. R5 6500U integrerar sex av åtta kärnor baserade på Zen 3+-mikroarkitekturen. De är klockade vid 2,9 (garanterad basklocka) till 4,5 GHz (Turbo) och har stöd för SMT/Hyperthreading (16 trådar). Chippet tillverkas i den moderna 6 nm-processen hos TSMC. Jämfört med den liknande R6 6600H erbjuder 6800U en lägre basklockhastighet och en lägre TDP.
Den nya Zen 3+ är en uppdatering av Zen 3-arkitekturen och bör inte bjuda på några större förändringar. Själva chipet erbjuder dock en hel del nya funktioner, som stöd för USB 4 (40 Gbps), PCI-E Gen 4, DDR5-4800MT/s eller LPDDR5-6400MT/s, WiFi 6E, Bluetooth LE 5.2, DisplayPort 2 och AV1-dekodning.
Processorprestandan ska vara klart bättre än den gamla Ryzen 5 5600U tack vare den förbättrade klockfrekvensen. De nya processorerna i Alder Lake U- och P-serien, som i5-1260P, ska dock erbjuda en högre prestanda.
I 6000-serien har AMD äntligen bytt till den nuvarande RDNA 2-grafikarkitekturen för iGPU:n. 6600H erbjuder endast den lilla Radeon 660M med 6 av de 12 CU:erna aktiverade och 1,9 GHz maximal klockfrekvens.
TDP för APU:n är specificerad till 15 - 28 Watt (standard). Energieffektiviteten bör vara mycket god tack vare den förbättrade 6nm-processen och ytterligare energisparfunktioner i 6000-serien.
