The Asus ExpertBook P5440FA has a quoted battery life of ten hours of paper but it’s, at best, an optimistic estimation. With the display set on moderate brightness and on average power settings with WiFi on and a purely productivity related work profile – emails, word processing, spreadsheets – for most of the day along with an hour or two of YouTube video, the notebook managed about seven hours of run time before we needed to find a plug point. That’s a fair figure by any measure and more than sufficient for a day out of the office.

90% Asus ExpertBook P5 (P5405) review: Affordable, durable, and long-lasting battery life makes for a strong resume

The Asus ExpertBook P5 (P5405) at $1,299 isn’t the cheapest business laptop by any means, but it’s a strong value in a market where prices closer to $2,000 and beyond are common for similar hardware. I just mentioned it again above, but that three-year warranty with one year of Accidental Damage Protection is an enticing add-on for businesses that don’t want to replace a new laptop due to some mishap after 6 months with it. The display and the mushy touchpad are the biggest complaints I have with the ExpertBook P5 and they are frankly fairly minor for a business laptop. If you are doing work that requires vibrant color and precise color accuracy, this isn’t the laptop for you, but the bright 144Hz panel is outstanding for productivity work.

Unlike the consumer Vivobook and Zenbook Asus models, this comes with a few extras in terms of durability and reliability standards that it has to meet, a few extra software and BIOS tweaks, and a few design and ergonomics particularities. For instance, it implements a clickier keyboard, a 180-hinge with an IPS display, it’s easier to upgrade and service, and depending on your region comes with a few extra warranty and post-sale perks.

The P5 isn't a mobile workstation, but it has enough power for most users, and its power efficiency makes the battery capacity last a remarkably long time. It's also quite affordable for such new technology. That coming from Asus is rather refreshing.

We liked the Zenbook S 14 quite a bit. It’s not as fast as we hoped, but it had strong battery life, a quality build, and a great OLED display. I was hopeful that the ExpertBook P5 would offer the same qualities, only with a slant toward businesses. Unfortunately, that’s not the case. To begin with, the build quality just isn’t what it should be. In particular, the lid feels fragile. The ExpertBook P5 is reasonably affordable, but that’s not acceptable. And battery life was disappointing, and that’s the whole purpose of Intel’s new chipset. I can’t recommend this laptop.

Asus:

Det här är mindre avancerade grafikkort för användare som ändå vill kunna spela spel. Nya spel bör vara spelbara, men ofta bara med låga detaljinställningar och låg upplösning. Eftersom moderna grafikkort i den här klassen har låg strömförbrukning kan även batteritiden vara bra.

Intel UHD Graphics 620:

De här grafikkorten bör klara av alla nuvarande spel med acceptabel bildfrekvens, men inte nödvändigtvis med höga inställningar. Särskilt krävande spel kanske bara fungerar med låga inställningar. Till skillnad från prestandakorten hittar man däremot de här grafikkorten i bärbara datorer av lite mindre format med bättre batteritid.

Intel Arc 140V: Ett ganska snabbt integrerat grafikkort som vissa Intel Lunar Lake-processorer enligt uppgift använder. 140V har 8 Xe²-arkitekturkärnor som körs i upp till 2 050 MHz och 8 strålspårningsenheter; det är DirectX 12 Ultimate-aktiverat och det stöder också alla moderna videocodecs. Om de senaste läckorna av benchmarkresultat är någon indikation, kommer dess spelprestanda att vara något bättre än GeForce MX570.
