So that was all for my review of the new Asus Vivobook S15 (S5507) with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X Elite processor. It’s an entirely different breed of thin and light Windows laptops… a true competitor to Apple’s marvelous MacBook Air… that you and I have been waiting for all these years. And looking purely through the battery life and power efficiency lens, I must say this thing delivers on its promise almost flawlessly. I don’t think I mentioned this before but these Snapdragon machines don’t lose much of their performance when running in battery power either. Which has been one of my biggest icks with basically every Intel or AMD-powered laptop so far, to be honest. So… have Qualcomm and Microsoft finally, finally managed to offer a Windows experience that’s on par with Apple’s magnificent MacBook Air?

Windows on ARM is not new. Efforts began in 2012 with Windows RT, a version of Windows 8 for ARM. 70% Asus Vivobook S 15 review: A powerful but drab Copilot Plus PC

The Asus Vivobook S 15 is a competent entry into the Copilot Plus PC arena, but one that struggles to stand out from the alternatives. It delivers good performance, long battery life, and a nice mix of wired and wireless connectivity—but the same is generally true of other Copilot Plus PCs. I’m also not a fan of Asus’ ho-hum design, which isn’t fitting for what should be a flagship laptop. The Vivobook S 15 is a good pick if you want a thin and light 15-inch machine, though, and defeats alternatives like the Acer Swift Edge 16 and LG Gram 16.

You might have expected Asus's first Copilot+ PC to emerge from its flagship thin-and-light Zenbook range. Instead, we have the Vivobook S15: a device from the brand's more affordable line, but still extremely slim, low in weight, and blessed with a stunning OLED screen. It turns out to be a worthy showcase of Qualcomm's new Snapdragon X hardware and Microsoft's new software, with virtues that may endear it not just to small business users, but even IT buyers from larger enterprises.

Focusing back on the ASUS Vivobook S15 (S5507), my first impression is based mostly from the fact that this is running Windows for Arm. Barring performance hits, it is a very functional piece of hardware at its current state but Qualcomm isn’t at fault here for not being able to bring out what the hardware can offer. As detailed earlier in this article, Microsoft’s focuses on technology first and decides later how to market that technology rather than focusing on actual user needs. This hurts its partner and hurts its users who can benefit greatly from a company that sees value in user experience. That said, as it is, the ASUS Vivobook S15 S5507 is a fully-functional daily driver if you focus mostly on cloud applications to light content creation.

The VivoBook S 15 2024 is the most premium model under the VivoBook line, and it. shows a lot of promise as a Copilot+ laptop that uses Qualcomm’s Snapdragon X series chips, ushering in a new era of Windows laptops. We still need to do further tests on the VivoBook S 15 2024–particularly with the performance of its Snapdragon X Elite processor and how good are all of its AI features–before we can give a proper verdict to one of the first Copilot+ laptops that’s arriving in the Philippines.

Qualcomm Adreno X1-85 3.8 TFLOPS: En integrerad grafikadapter som flera Snapdragon X Elite- och X Plus-processorer har. Adreno har inget stöd för SUHD 4320p-bildskärmar och när det gäller prestanda är det inte mycket snabbare än den åldrande 96 EU Intel Iris Xe iGPU.

Det här är mindre avancerade grafikkort för användare som ändå vill kunna spela spel. Nya spel bör vara spelbara, men ofta bara med låga detaljinställningar och låg upplösning. Eftersom moderna grafikkort i den här klassen har låg strömförbrukning kan även batteritiden vara bra.
