Dell's lowest cost Inspiron 15 laptop certainly is affordable at $400 and offers a good deal of performance from its Core i3 processor. It also sets itself apart from its competition with small things such as easy to upgrade memory and Bluetooth support. All of this is tempered by the fast that this is an older chassis so it lacks modern features like USB 3.0 or even the customization that Dell offers for its more expensive 15R series.

The large 15.6" screen and the comfortable full-sized keyboard along with the responsive touchpad make it an ideal desktop replacement. Moderate gaming is also possible, thanks to the NVIDIA GeForce GT630M. However, it is a little too heavy to be considered portable. Also, it doesn't really give you the battery backup to stay away from a charging point for a long duration. The Inspiron 15z is rather expensive at Rs 75,000. The refreshed Inspiron ultrabook range feels a lot better to use. The "budget" build quality of the previous version has given way to a much more premium feel, while keeping the same design. Performance is quite good. But why you would consider the Inspiron 15z as an ultrabook, all models included, will be because you need the bigger display. With this particular model that we have tested, the Core i7 and 8GB RAM offer excellent performance as well. The touchscreen is an added feature, but we aren't sure if you will really need it that often. Consider this, only if you need the most powerful machine, in the ultrabook form factor. Else, the lower spec version of the Inspiron 15z would make a lot more sense.

The high-end model then really doesn’t make much practical sense since you’ll seldom use the touchscreen. We weren’t very impressed with the build quality either. Overall, the Inspiron 15z is a decent buy if you pick the one that costs around Rs 50,000, but any configuration above that is not worth the premium.

From our perspective it’s not very mobile, has relatively short battery life and could do with an SSD but seen from the 15-inch laptop perspective there’s an attractive package here. Only the screen disappoints in that respect and that might not be a problem for those planning to work using an external screen. We truly enjoyed the A/V capabilities of the 15Z – there’s nothing quite as easy as throwing your favorite DVD onto this and kicking back – as long as it’s only you. An IPS screen could have widened, literally, the viewer opportunity.

So we are left with 3 other very important aspects for a business worthy notebook – comfortable keyboard and touchpad, good battery life and connectivity. Well, the Inspiron 5551 covers all of that, or at least the most part of it. The keyboard is more than good, but the touchpad is awful. Sometimes it failed to register a right or left mouse click as well as simple gestures or touches – quite frustrating. However, battery life is just amazing – you will get more than 6 hours straight when browsing or watching a movie. As far as connectivity is concerned, our only complaint here is the lack of LAN port. This, in our opinion, is a necessity for most notebooks and since this is not an ultrabook or convertible, an RJ-45 port would be more than appreciated. So is it worth your money? Definitely! This is one of the best notebooks in the lower-end segment.

The extra screen real estate is welcome in certain scenarios in tablet mode, but the display is just too big to hold over your lap, and you may gravitate towards the HP Spectre x360 for these reasons.

The Dell Inspiron 5545 is a true gem in its class in terms of performance. Not all notebooks under €500 can run GTA V with decent frame rates and this is mainly due to the asymmetric CrossFire configuration that the iGPU and the discrete GPU (both Radeon of course) offer. You can rely on both GPUs to handle graphically intense tasks, but the compute performance and the TDP (19W) are not par with the latest technology trends, though. Still, we cannot be too picky at this price range. Another notable feature of this notebook is the design. It really looks and feels good with solid build quality, but there’s more to be desired in this aspect to be honest. We are disappointed with the size of the keys, the touchpad performance and the silicon legs at the bottom, which failed to keep the notebook stable on the surface. There are too many inconsistencies that can’t be overlooked. The display isn’t anything special as well, but we can let it pass considering the price tag.

The Inspiron 15 (3558) is a fully functional, well-made laptop with good speed and a low price point. It's not packed with features and keeps things simple, but for $329, it's not missing anything essential. Its newer processor provides a noticeable bump up in performance over the Dell Inspiron 17 5000 Series Non-Touch's CPU, and it boasts superior battery life and double the storage. You're getting a smaller screen, but that's really the only downside, and increased portability may be preferable to some.

Dell has made some sacrifices in order to bring the price to a very competitive level without compromising the notebook reliability. At the end of the day, maybe that’s what is most important for serious work, but you should know that Inspiron 5559 isn’t suitable for anything else. Although the AMD Radeon R5 M335 graphic card has its own dedicated memory (4GB DDR3), this doesn’t necessarily mean that you can use it for gaming – CS:GO is the limit, or may be GTA V and Tomb Raider, at their lowest settings. Let’s put that aside, you probably wouldn’t be reading this review if you’re a gamer – Dell Inspiron 5559 has very good CPU performance and if you invest a hundred bucks in an additional SSD (you can swap the DVD writer with an HDD caddy), the notebook will become blazingly fast in all your business applications. Add to that the aforementioned reliability (secured by the 36 months of NBD warranty), you get one of the best business laptops out there.

The Inspiron 3552 is definitely a solid performer with little setbacks along the way. In terms of design and construction, the laptop impresses with relatively light and compact dimensions, some parts also feel pretty flexible and smudges stick pretty easily around the whole surface. Still, this is very common for this price range, but what’s uncommon are the surprisingly good input devices. The keyboard and touchpad are pretty comfortable to use.

Dell Inspiron i5567-1836GRY is the quintessential mid-range laptop with solid performance for software, poor graphics performance and mediocre screen. So, any program-related stuff you do on this computer will be a smooth sail, for that you can thank the Core i5 processor running inside. Gaming will be limited to last season titles because graphics card is a mere integrated unit. Image quality is crisp although somewhat hampered by the uninspiring 1366×768 resolution. All in all, for the money the Dell is still a good buy for someone’s home or office laptop.

Dell:
Bara vissa äldre spel kan spelas flytande med de här grafikkorten. Kretsar med delat minne har fördelen att de utvecklar mindre värme och ger längre batteritid. De duger gott för kontorsbruk, surfande och enklare bildbehandling, men spel och HD-video är inte i syftet med de här kretsarna.
Intel HD Graphics 3000: Den integrerade grafikkretsen i Intels Sandy Bridge-processorer (Core ix-2xxx). Snabbare än föregångaren och överklockningsbar med Turbo Boost.

En del nyare spel kan spelas med de här grafikkorten, men bara om de är mindre krävande. De har ändå tillräcklig kapacitet för kontorsbruk och film (möjligen högupplöst). Är grafikkretsen dessutom integrerad kan batteritiden vara utmärkt.
Intel HD Graphics 4000: Den integrerade grafikkretsen i Intels Ivy Bridge-processorer. Prestandan varierar mellan olika processormodeller (ex. ULV eller fyrkärniga).

Till skillnad från prestandakorten hittar man däremot de här grafikkorten i bärbara datorer av lite mindre format med bättre batteritid.
NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 4GB Laptop GPU:
Grafikkort för bärbara datorer för spel i mellanklass, baserat på Ampere GA107-chipet. Erbjuder 2048 shaders och erbjuds i olika TGP-varianter (strömförbrukning) från 35 till 80 watt med olika klockfrekvenser och därmed prestanda.
