HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G

HiSilicon Kirin 990 5G är en åttakärnig ARM-baserad SoC från toppskiktet för smartphones och surfplattor som introducerades tillsammans med Huawei Mate 30 Pro under slutet av 2019. Den innehåller åtta CPU-kärnor i tre kluster. Prestandaklustret innehåller två Cortex A76-kärnor på upp till 2.86 GHz, det balanserade klustret innehåller också två Cortex A76-kärnor men med en klockfrekvens på upp till 2.36 GHz och det energibesparande klustret innehåller fyra små ARM Cortex A55-kärnor på upp till 1.95 GHz. Vidare har den en neural processor (2 + 1 kärnor) för AI-arbete och en ARM Mali-G76 MP16 GPU med en klockfrekvens på 700 MHz. Jämfört med 4G-versionen har 5G-varianten av Kirin 990 ett Balong 5G modem och har aningen högre klockfrekvens (på 2 av de 3 klustren samt på GPU:n).

Kirin 990 5G tillverkas av TSMC i en modern 7nm (7FF+ med EUV) process medans 4G-versionen fortfarande tillverkas i samma lite äldre 7nm-process som Kirin 980.
