Performance from the 12th generation Intel chip is nothing short of outstanding, and I’m also happy that Huawei hasn’t joined the stampede to rid its compact machines of Type-A USB ports, while the presence of a Thunderbolt 4 port is always nice to see.

This does come at the price of the battery, which isn’t the best I’ve seen, but can be solved as long as you’re near to a plug socket. In my opinion, this is the best 16-inch laptop you can get from Huawei right now, and I would implore anyone interested in a large-screened machine to give this one a chance.

However, it lacks in terms of configuration options and upgradability, and it doesn’t have any quality that would make it a very strong recommendation. That’s not great since it’s in a market segment that is flooded with great options. A solid example of a good alternative is the new MacBook Air 15, which lands around the same price but boasts superior hardware. Samsung also has the Galaxy Book3 in multiple sizes, flavours, and AMOLED screens around this price tag. There’s also the Asus Zenbook Pro 14 Duo, which is smaller in size but makes up for it with the extra screen. There are also quite a few gaming laptop options in this price bracket that tick the right boxes. Many of the best laptops around are more exciting – be it Apple Silicon, AMOLED screens, or the novelty and practicality of a dual display. The MateBook 16s almost seems boring in comparison, but that’s not a bad thing for everybody. It performs decently and blends in.

Det här är mindre avancerade grafikkort för användare som ändå vill kunna spela spel. Nya spel bör vara spelbara, men ofta bara med låga detaljinställningar och låg upplösning. Eftersom moderna grafikkort i den här klassen har låg strömförbrukning kan även batteritiden vara bra.

i9-13900H: Alder Lake-baserad mobil CPU med 6 prestandakärnor och 8 effektiva kärnor. Prestandakärnorna erbjuder hyper threading, vilket leder till 20 trådar som kan bearbetas.
