Intel 4200M

Intel Core i5-4200M är är en processor i i mellanklassen för bärbara datorer som lanserades andra kvartalet 2013. Den bygger på Haswellarkitekturen och tillverkas i 22 nm. Tack vare Hyperthreading kan de två kärnorna hantera upp till fyra trådar parallellt vilket leder till ett mer effektivt utnyttjande av processorn.

'Varje kärna har en grundhastighet på 2,5 GHz men kan dynamiskt öka frekvensen med Turbo Boost upp till 3,1 GHz (med 1 aktiv kärna) eller 3,0 GHz (med 2 aktiva kärnor).

Haswell är efterföljare till Ivy Bridge-arkitekturen med förbättringar i både GPU och CPU-prestanda. Kretsarna tillverkas i 22 nm och erbjuder ett antal optimeringar som förbättrad branch prediction och fler exekveringsportar. Dessutom bör nya funktioner som AVX2 och FMA öka prestandan i framtida tillämpningar.

Tack vare de här förändringarna har prestandan per klockcykel förbättrats med nästan 10 procent jämfört med Ivy Bridge. Core i5-4200M är därför ungefär lika snabb som Ivy Bridge-modellen i5-3340M.

Den integrerade grafiken Intel HD Graphics 4600 har 20 exekveringsenheter (EUs) med en klocka på 400 MHz eller upp till 1150 MHz med Turbo Boost, vilket gör det ungefär 30% snabbare än en HD 4000 med samma klockfrekvenser.

Core i5-4200M har en TDP på ​​37 W inklusive grafikkrets, minneskontroller och VRM. Därför lämpar sig processorn bäst för bärbara datorer från 14 tum och uppåt.
