Intel i9-10980XE

Intel Core i9-10980XE är en avancerad desktop- / arbetsstations-processor baserad på serien Cascade Lake-X. Den innehåller 18 processorkärnor med en klockfrekvens på mellan 3 och 4.6 GHz (Turbo Boost 3.0). Jämfört med i9-9980XE har 10980XE 200 MHz högre Turbo-klockfrekvens och kommer med extra AVX-512 instruktioner för små datatyper (8 Bit och 16 Bit integers). Den grundläggande arkitekturen påminner om Skylake. Tack vare HyperThreading kan processorn hantera 36 trådar åt gången. De individuella kärnorna är anslutna genom ett nät istället för den ringbuss som konsumentfokuserade processorer använder.

De 18 CPU-kärnorna presterar utmärkt för multitrådade applikationer, men för spel och arbetsbelastning som använder färre trådar är konsumentprocessorer med högre klockfrekvens som Core i9-9900K snabbare.

Processorn har ett specificerat TDP-värde på 165 Watt och behöver därför ett stort och kapabelt kylsystem.
