Intel Pentium 4415Y

Intel Pentium 4415Y är en lågvoltsprocessor på instegsnivå för små bärbara datorer eller surfplattor och som är baserad på Kaby Lake-arkitekturen. Den utannonserades under andra kvartalet av 2017 och har två processorkärnor med en klockfrekvens på 1.6 GHz (ingen Turbo Boost). Tack vare HyperThreading kan processorn hantera fyra trådar samtidigt. Chippet innehåller också en Intel HD Graphics 615 GPU, en minneskontrollenhet (DDR3L/LPDDR3, dualkanal) samt videokodning/avkodning för VP9 och H.265. Den tillverkas fortfarande i en 14 nm-process med FinFET-transistorer. Jämfört med den mycket snabbare Core m3-7Y30 har Pentium 4415 ingen Turbo Boost, andra CPU- och GPU-klockfrekvenser, mindre L3-cache samt ett högre TDP-värde på 6 Watt.

Arkitektur

Intel har i princip använd en bekant mikroarkitektur från Skylake-generationen, så prestandan per MHz är identisk. Det är bara Speed Shift-tekniken, vilken tillåter snabbare justering av spänning och klockfrekvens, som har förbättrats. Den förbättrade 14 nm-processen tillåter även mycket högre frekvenser och bättre effektivitet än tidigare.

Prestanda

På grund av att Turbo Boost saknas har Pentium 4415Y märkbart sämre enkeltrådad prestanda jämfört med den dyrare Core m3-7Y30. Detta bör märkas vid vardagsanvändning.

Grafik

Den inbyggda Intel HD Graphics 615 GPU:n har 24 Execution Units (EU:s) precis som den äldre HD Graphics 515 och har i kombination med den här processorn en klockfrekvens på 300 - 850 MHz. Prestandan beror kraftigt på TDP-begränsningen samt minneskonfigurationen; med snabbt LPDDR3-1866 RAM i dualkanalsläge bör denna GPU kunna tävla med HD Graphics 520, men den kan också vara mycket långsammare i andra scenarier. Moderna spel från 2016 kommer bara kunna köras på smidigt på lägsta inställningar, om de fungerar överhuvudtaget.

I jämförelse med Skylake så stödjer Kaby Lake nu också hårdvaru-avkodning av H.265/HEVC Main10 med 10 bitars färgdjup samt Googles VP9-kodek.

Energiförbrukning

Chippet är tillverkat i en förbättrad 14 nm-process med FinFET-transistorer, så energieffektiviteten har återigen förbättrats rejält. TDP-värdet är på 6 Watt och kan minskas till 4.5 Watt (cTDP Down).
