Intel i5-1140G7

Intel Core i5-1140G7 är en strömsnål fyrkärnig SoC för bärbara datorer och ultrabooks baserad på Tiger Lake-U-generationen (UP4) som introducerades i början av 2021. Den integrerar fyra Willow Cove-processorkärnor (8 trådar tack vare Hyper-Threading). Den garanterade basklockfrekvensen beror på TDP-inställningen och kan variera från 0,8 (7 W TDP) till 1,8 GHz (15 W TDP). Turbo-klockhastigheten är specificerad till 4,2 GHz för en kärna, alla kärnor kan nå upp till 3,5 GHz.

En annan nyhet är det integrerade Xe-grafikkortet med 80EU som bygger på den helt nya Gen 12-arkitekturen. Det ger en betydligt högre prestanda jämfört med det äldre Iris Plus G7 (Ice Lake). I i5-1140G7 använder det 80 av de 96 EUs och klockar mellan 400 - 1100 MHz. GPU:n och CPU:n kan tillsammans använda de 8 MB L3-cache.

Dessutom lägger Tiger Lake SoCs till PCIe 4-stöd (fyra körfält), AI-hårdvaruacceleration och delvis integrering av Thunderbolt 4/USB 4 och Wi-Fi 6 i chipet. I5-1140G7 har också stöd för hanteringsfunktionen vPro.

Chippet tillverkas i den förbättrade 10nm+-processen (kallad SuperFin) hos Intel som ska vara jämförbar med 7nm-processen hos TSMC (t.ex. Ryzen 4000-serien).

Driftsområdet för UP4-serien är specificerat till 7 till 15 Watt. Processorn är därför väl lämpad för mycket tunna och lätta bärbara datorer, konvertibla datorer eller surfplattor.
