Intel Core i9-11980HK är en högkvalitativ ottokärnig SoC för bärbara speldatorer och mobila arbetsstationer. Den är baserad på Tiger Lake H45-generationen och tillkännagavs i mitten av 2021. Den integrerar åtta Willow Cove-processorkärnor (16 trådar tack vare HyperThreading). Basklockfrekvensen beror på TDP-inställningen och vid 45 Watt ligger den på 2,6 GHz. Boosthastigheten för en enda kärna kan nå upp till 5 GHz (ITBM 3.0, även två kärnor), alla kärnor kan nå upp till 4,5 GHz. Processorn erbjuder 24 MB nivå 3-cache och stöder DDR4-3200-minne. Tack vare den fria multiplikatorn kan CPU:n också lätt överklockas (men kanske inte har så mycket utrymme).
Tack vare den nya Tiger Lake-arkitekturen bör i9-11980HK vara betydligt snabbare än den gamla Intel Core i9-10980HK (Comet Lake-H, 2,4 - 5,3 GHz, 16 MB L3) i enkel- och flertrådig prestanda och liknar Ryzen 9 5980HX (Zen 3, 3,3 - 4,8 GHz, 16 MB L3). Därför bör i9 vara en av de snabbaste processorerna för bärbara datorer år 2021 och väl lämpad även för mycket krävande uppgifter.
Chippet tillverkas på den förbättrade 10nm-processen (kallad 10nm SuperFin) hos Intel, som bör vara jämförbar med 7nm-processen hos TSMC (t.ex. Ryzen 4000-serien). Standard-TDP (PL1) är beräknad till 45 W, vid 65 Watt ökar basklockfrekvensen till 3,3 GHz (cTDP uppåt). Short burst PL2 är specificerad till 107 Watt för basprofilen och 135 Watt för prestandaprofilen.
