When it came to taking one laptop with me while working away from home, confronted with the choice of the T14s, HP EliteBook 845 G11, and the 13in Microsoft Surface Laptop, it was Lenovo’s machine I reached for every time. It felt like a natural fit for working on the go, but then again, it was my literal Editor’s Choice just a few months before. Throughout this review, I’ve been calling the T14s a business machine - and it’s certainly built for the job.

EN→SVThe Lenovo ThinkPad T14s Gen 4 is such a positive surprise. This little fella with a 16.9 mm profile offers almost exactly the same performance as the bigger ThinkPad T14 Gen 4. In general, the performance of the T14s sibling is great. Web browsing or watching videos while benchmarking with Cinebench R23 isn’t a problem for this device – we already tried this and we observed no system lags. In addition to that, the CPU can sustain high processor P and E clocks under any load. During longer stress, the frequencies are a bit higher than the ones of the ThinkPad T14 Gen 4. The single fan is almost quiet when the processor has to do the heavy lifting and it’s hard to hear some noise in idle or during video playback. The thermals on the outside are low enough for comfortable usage. The input devices are also very good. The keyboard is comfortable for typing, it’s spill-resistant, and it has a backlight. The touchpad is smooth and responsive. The memory is soldered but this applies to almost any other notebook with similar thickness.

Vi har redan recenserat den nuvarande ThinkPad T14s G4 med Intel-processor och högupplöst OLED-panel, och nu har vi AMD-modellen med Ryzen 7 7840U och strömsnål IPS-skärm. Förutom betydligt mer prestanda är den goda batteritiden särskilt imponerande.

Det här är mindre avancerade grafikkort för användare som ändå vill kunna spela spel. Nya spel bör vara spelbara, men ofta bara med låga detaljinställningar och låg upplösning. Eftersom moderna grafikkort i den här klassen har låg strömförbrukning kan även batteritiden vara bra.
Intel Iris Xe G7 96EUs:
Integrerat grafikkort i Intel Tiger Lake G4 SoCs som bygger på den nya Gen. 12-arkitekturen med 96 EUs (Execution Units / Shader Cluster). Klockfrekvensen beror på processormodellen. Tiger Lake-kretsarna tillverkas i den moderna 10nm+-processen hos Intel.
AMD Radeon 780M:
Integrerat grafikkort i Ryzen 7040 mobilseriens APU:er baserat på RDNA3-arkitekturen med 12 CU:er (= 768 shaders) och en klockhastighet på upp till 3 GHz.

i7-1355U: Alder Lake-baserad mobil CPU med 2 prestandakärnor och 8 effektiva kärnor. Prestandakärnorna erbjuder hyper threading, vilket leder till 12 trådar som kan bearbetas. CPU:n klockar från 1,2 till 5 GHz. TDP är specificerad till 15 watt.
AMD Phoenix (Zen 4):
R7 7840U: Högklassig mobil 8-kärnig processor baserad på Zen 4-arkitekturen. CPU-kärnorna klockar upp till 5,1 GHz och exekverar 16 trådar samtidigt. Integrerar en XDNA Ai-Engine. TDP kan konfigureras mellan 35 och 54 watt.
