Sämre prestanda än förväntat!

Maxtang MTN-FP750 är en relativt ospektakulär mini-PC och i sin kraftfullare variant levereras den med en AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS. Vi har testat den kompakta kontorsdatorn, dess 16 GB RAM-minne och 512 GB SSD och analyserat dess prestanda.

Maxtang är en kinesisk systemtillverkare som säljer industriella speciallösningar i form av inbyggda system samt minidatorer avsedda för kontorsbruk. I denna recension fokuserar vi på Maxtang MTN-FP750 som kostar $440 US dollar. Systemet består av en AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS och 16 GB DDR5 RAM-minne samt en 512 GB SSD. Alternativt kan en AMD Ryzen 5 6600H processor också tillgänglig. Utöver detta kan minidatorn beställas med ytterligare RAM-minne och en större SSD. Maxtang erbjuder också ett barebones-alternativ, men detta kommer bara med AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS.

I den här recensionen sätter Maxtang MTN-FP750 sig mot nuvarande mini-pc. En mer detaljerad lista över de jämförelseenheter som finns i denna recension sammanfattas i följande tabell.

Hölje - Metall och plast i pianosvart

Maxtang MTN-FP750 har ett robust metallhölje som kompletteras av svarta glänsande plastytor på enhetens över- och undersida. Mycket snabbt blir fingeravtryck synliga och förr eller senare är repor oundvikliga. Stabilitetsmässigt verkar maskinen inte lida av att ha plasthöljen. Maxtang-märket är inpräntat på toppen av minidatorn.

Med cirka 13 x 13 centimeter tar enheten upp lite mer skrivbordsutrymme än konkurrenterna och med en vikt på 600 gram är Maxtang MTN-FP750 relativt lätt. Nätaggregatet väger bara knappt 290 gram. Maxtang MTN-FP750 kan också fästas på en bildskärm och ett VESA-fäste ingår i förpackningen.

Funktioner

När det gäller portar erbjuder Maxtang MTN-FP750 grunderna. Alla dessa finns på framsidan och baksidan. Det finns totalt fem USB-portar, varav en (USB typ C) också kan användas som bildskärmskontakt. Tillsammans med de två HDMI-utgångarna på baksidan innebär detta att totalt tre bildskärmar kan användas samtidigt. På enhetens baksida finns dessutom en 2,5G LAN-port.

Maxtang MTN-FP750 är hem för en Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 trådlös modul som kan hantera 2,4 och 5 GHz frekvenser. I tester har vårt recensionsexemplar inte precis överväldigat oss med imponerande resultat. För testet använde vi en Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000. Alternativt kan du också ansluta Maxtang mini PC till nätverket via en Ethernet-port. Överföringshastigheter på upp till 2,5 Gbit/s är möjliga.

Tillbehör

Maxtang MTN-FP750 levereras med alla de viktigaste komponenterna för att få igång enheten. Förutom själva maskinen innehåller lådan ett 90-watts nätaggregat (19 V; 4,74 A) samt en monteringsplatta för VESA-montering. På samma sätt är en HDMI-kabel och en snabbinställningsguide också en del av paketet.

Underhåll

Maxtang mini PC kan öppnas relativt enkelt. Basen är fäst med fyra skruvar som döljs av fastlimmade gummifötter. Under basplattan är det ganska enkelt att komma åt RAM-minnet eller M.2 SSD-enheten. I vårt fall finns det fortfarande utrymme för att installera ytterligare en RAM-modul och en andra masslagringsenhet (2,5-tumsformat). För att komma åt fläkten måste enheten demonteras ytterligare, vilket gör snabb rengöring till en omöjlighet.

Prestanda - En AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS med 8 kärnor och 16 trådar

Vår Maxtang MTN-FP750 granskningsenhet levereras med AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS. I AMD Radeon 680MsoC har också en kraftfull iGPU till sitt förfogande. När det gäller RAM-minnet har tillverkaren dock valt att ge minidatorn en enda 16 GB DDR5-5600-modul, även om det i praktiken bara kan användas en DDR5-4800.

Testförhållanden

Vi utförde alla prestandatester med energiprofilen "högsta prestanda". SoC:ns prestanda ändrades inte i BIOS och enheten behöll sina fabriksinställningar.

Processor

AMD Ryzen 7 77HS AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS är en relativt modern 8-kärnig processor i Rembrandt-serien. AMD: s Zen3 SoC kan dock inte längre betraktas som ett av de nya barnen på blocket. Trots detta kan processorn bearbeta 16 trådar parallellt, vilket är bra multi-thread-prestanda. I prestandajämförelsen kunde vår Maxtang MTN-FP750 bara säkra näst sista platsen. Anledningen till detta är AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS effektgräns på 35 watt.

Cinebench R15 multi-loop visade oss hur väl kylsystemet fungerar under belastning. Kylaggregatet når inte sina gränser tack vare en låg maximal TDP på endast 35 watt och det är därför enheten kunde uppnå genomgående stabil CPU-prestanda. I jämförelsen lyckades vårt granskningsprov till och med säkra andraplatsen bakom Geekom AS 6.

Återigen, i de syntetiska testerna av systemprestanda, var vår testenhet också att finna på efterkälken. I dagliga uppgifter under testning och från en subjektiv synvinkel kunde Maxtang MTN-FP750 leverera bra systemprestanda, så länge systemet inte utmanades med att hantera för många uppgifter samtidigt. RAM-minnet verkar vara flaskhalsen eftersom när du subtraherar grafikminnet är endast 12 av de 16 GB tillgängliga.

Grafikkort

Grafikutmatningen hanteras av AMD Radeon 680M, en iGPU som levererar bra prestanda i de flesta situationer. Med Maxtang MTN-FP750 är detta dock något annorlunda och anledningen är det installerade RAM-minnet. Tillverkaren utrustade endast vår granskningsenhet med en RAM-modul. I den här konfigurationen är AMD Radeon 680M är knappast snabbare än Intel Iris Xe Graphics G7 med 96 EUs. Även Geekom A5 har sin näsa framför vårt granskningsprov med sin äldre AMD Radeon RX Vega 8.

För att komma till botten med den svaga prestandan tog vi en annan RAM-modul från våra leveranser och utförde några riktmärken. Detta ledde till resultat ungefär i nivå med Geekom AS 6 därmed gör Maxtang MTN-FP750 inte på något sätt sämre än sina konkurrenter.

Utsläpp - Ekonomiska men inte ohörbara

Utsläpp av buller

Maxtang MTN-FP750 är för det mesta tyst, utan att det behöver betonas. Under belastning nådde vi dock snabbt 45 dB(A) och vi kunde bara urskilja en minimal skillnad mellan medium och full belastning. Men vi kan konstatera att detta ligger inom mätningens tolerans. Det är synd att det bara verkar finnas två fläktnivåer. En blick på tabellen visar att både Geekom A5 och NiPoGi AD08 var ännu mer högljudda i samma scenario.

Temperatur

Maxtang MTN-FP750:s hölje värms bara upp minimalt när den körs antingen på tomgång eller under belastning. Vi observerade en hotspot på ovansidan av enheten, som bara mätte strax under 40 °C, medan undersidan av enheten inte ens nådde 35 °C. SoC blir dock betydligt varmare även om vi vid nästan 80 °C fortfarande befann oss i den gröna zonen. Dessutom har tillverkaren ställt in en maximal temperatur på 90 °C i BIOS. Vi kunde fortfarande inte uppnå detta med den förinställda effektgränsen på 35 watt.

Strömförbrukning

I vår jämförelse tillhör Maxtang MTN-FP750 de mest ekonomiska enheterna. När vi körde på tomgång registrerade vi redan mycket låg strömförbrukning på bara 7 till 8,4 watt. Endast Geekom A5 och Geekom Mini IT12 kan hålla jämna steg med liknande låga poäng. Under belastning fortsatte vårt testexemplar att vara jämförelsevis ekonomiskt med vår mätanordning som registrerade en topp på endast 61,4 watt. Med tanke på processorns begränsade effektgränser är detta inte särskilt överraskande energikrav under belastning.

Detta innebär att 90-watts nätaggregatet aldrig har några problem med att på ett tillförlitligt sätt förse minidatorn med tillräckligt med energi. Nätaggregatet kan till och med utan problem hantera manuell justering av strömförbrukningen.

Maxtang MTN-FP750 är en relativt okomplicerad minidator för kontorsbruk hemma eller på arbetsplatsen. AMD Ryzen 7 7735HS erbjuder tillräcklig kraft för att kunna hantera de flesta uppgifter. Dess 8 kärnor och 16 trådar gör minidatorn lämplig för prestandahungriga applikationer. Det installerade RAM-minnet består av 16 GB, vilket inte utgör några problem för tillfället. Men när det kommer till kritan har användningen av en enda RAM-modul lönat sig, trots att Maxtang MTN-FP750 tillåter installation av SO-DIMM-moduler. Detta innebar att Maxtang MTN-FP750 i tester inte levererade den typ av prestanda som vi hade förväntat oss. De mest anmärkningsvärda prestandaskillnaderna kan hittas i 3D-riktmärkena. Detta problem kan förebyggas genom att installera en extra RAM-modul och det är utan tvekan något som kunder bör vara uppmärksamma på.

Enligt databladet erbjuder Maxtang MTN-FP750 utmärkt prestanda. I tester misslyckades dock minidatorn med att leverera sin utlovade kraft.

Maxtang MTN-FP750s största fördel är dess låga pris jämfört med de konkurrenter som presenteras här i vår jämförelse. Prestandan är något sämre om du inte tar saken i egna händer och SoC: s effektgränser inte kan justeras. Enligt vår mening är den definierade effektgränsen på 35 watt lite för konservativ. Vid 45 watt kunde tillverkaren ha gjort en bra kompromiss. Detsamma gäller RAM-minnet som kan utökas med en andra modul. Om du tar hänsyn till båda dessa punkter, prestandamässigt, är det en helt annan Maxtang MTN-FP750 än den vi testade.

Portvalet kan beskrivas som solitt. Alla de viktiga är ombord - men det är ungefär det. Thunderbolt eller USB4 saknas vilket begränsar antalet användningsområden något. En positiv bieffekt av att ha en CPU med prestandabegränsningar är Maxtang MTN-FP750:s energibehov. I tester var den här enheten betydligt mer ekonomisk än sina konkurrenter. Tyvärr påverkade detta inte det jämförelsevis höga fläktljudet positivt. Ett något bättre kylningskoncept skulle ha resulterat i bättre poäng inom detta område.
