Som vi redan vet kan Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G beställas från tillverkarens egen webbutik. Du har även fortsättningsvis möjlighet att köpa enheten i olika konfigurationer. Barebone-versionen utan RAM-minne, SSD eller Windows-licens börjar från 959 euro (~1029 dollar), och du måste för närvarande räkna med 1 099 euro (~1179 dollar) för vår testkonfiguration. Visuellt sett finns det knappast några skillnader mellan de två Minisforum Neptune Series HX90Goch Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G. Fodralet fortsätter att vara konstruerat huvudsakligen av plast, med några tillagda små visuella element av Carbon. Invändigt finns det också en del metall, vilket stöder stabiliteten. Utförandet av vår testenhet är bra, även om vi också hade uppskattat ett materialval av högre kvalitet. Med denMinisforum Neptune Series NAD9har tillverkaren redan bevisat att saker och ting också kan göras annorlunda. Datorn innehåller ett stativ som gör att du kan placera den vertikalt på skrivbordet. Men du behöver inte använda den, eftersom du också kan använda enheten horisontellt utan problem.

Jämfört med HX90G är storleken identisk, men med 1,6 kg ser vi en tydlig skillnad i vikt, där Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G väger nästan 200 gram mer, vilket troligen beror på kraftfullare kylning. Det externa nätaggregatet ger ytterligare 650 gram (~1,5 lb) på vågen.

WLAN-modul i Minisforum Neptune-serien HX99G

Minisforum använder en Wi-Fi 6E-modul från Mediatek i Neptune Series HX99G. En identisk WLAN-modul används också i HX90G och i den nyligen testade Minisforum Venus-serien UM690. I det praktiska testet med vår testrouter Asus ROG Rapture GT-AXE11000 ser vi en liknande prestanda i vår testenhet som hos konkurrenterna från samma tillverkare. Den kan dock inte nå upp till prestandan hos en Intel Wi-Fi 6E-AX210. För en snabbare dataanslutning kan du också använda LAN-porten som ett alternativ, som stöder maximalt 2,5 Gbit/s.

Underhåll

I princip kan du utföra underhållsarbeten med Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G, eftersom du också kan köpa enheten som en barebone-version ändå. Vi har dock fortfarande ett klagomål om samma punkt i HX99G som redan i HX90G, med deras grundläggande konstruktion som är densamma. Skruvarna för att öppna höljet är dolda under gummiremsorna som enheten vilar på när den är placerad horisontellt, så efter att de tagits bort kan du riskera att remsorna inte sitter fast ordentligt längre. Efter att ha tagit bort skruvarna kan man relativt enkelt öppna fallets botten. Under denna hittar du ytterligare ett metallskydd som du också måste ta bort för att komma åt RAM, SSD eller Wi-Fi-modulen. Den här metallplattan tjänar till att hålla fast sidokåporna. För att komma åt de två fläktarna måste du ta isär enheten ytterligare, men detta kan lätt göras med viss skicklighet. Tillverkaren rekommenderar uttryckligen att man inte tar bort kylflänsarna från SoC och GPU. Värmepasta för att underlätta värmeavledningen har redan applicerats, så du bör inte behöva ändra något här, enligt vår åsikt.

Prestanda - AMDs Rembrandt SoC med bra prestanda

Minisforum har utrustat Neptune Series HX99G med AMD:s nyaRyzen 9 6900HX. Vid en första anblick ger uppgraderingen till HX90G endast en liten prestandaökning, men med DDR5 och Thunderbolt 4 kan mervärdet av den nya plattformen vara ganska högt. MedAMD Radeon RX 6600Mfinns det också ett ganska kraftfullt grafikkort som gör att vi överhuvudtaget kan se enheten som en speldator.

Testförhållanden

Vi körde alla prestandatester med strömprofilen "Högsta prestanda" aktiverad. Vi ändrade inte CPU:ns strömparametrar, utan lät den stå i "Auto"-läget enligt BIOS-inställningarna.

Processor

TheAMD Ryzen 9 6900HXär en modern octa-core-processor från den nuvarande Rembrandt-serien, som kan arbeta med totalt 16 trådar parallellt. I Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G ersätter detta denAMD Ryzen 9 5900HX, vilket gör att den kan öka prestandan något totalt sett. Detta är dock fortfarande långt ifrån en märkbar prestandaökning, och båda SoC:erna erbjuder subjektivt sett samma hastighet. Eftersom Minisforum även erbjuder Neptune-serien som HX80G med en AMD Ryzen 7 5800H, inkluderade vi även denna SoC i vårt jämförelseschema.

Lagringslösning

För närvarande används SSD från Kingston relativt ofta i Minisforums minidatorer. Detta är också fallet i Minisforums Neptune Series HX99G, där modellen också levererar en mycket bra prestanda. Med 512 GB erbjuder modellen som används här inte särskilt mycket lagringsutrymme, och det är också den minsta modellen som tillverkaren erbjuder i sina förkonfigurerade system. Som en spelenhet bör det dock finnas minst 1 TB lagringsutrymme. Lyckligtvis kan du också enkelt utöka lagringsutrymmet vid ett senare tillfälle med hjälp av den andra M.2-platsen. 3D-prestandan hos Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G hanteras å ena sidan av den AMD Radeon 680Moch å andra sidan AMD Radeon RX 6600Msom det dedikerade grafikkortet när en högre prestanda behövs. Utöver iGPU:n erbjuder minidatorn på detta sätt en solid 3D-prestanda för krävande applikationer. Detta vet vi redan frånMinisforum Neptune Series HX90Goch olika recensioner av bärbara datorer. Minisforum begränsar inte den maximala prestandan för det dedikerade grafikkortet och tillåter 3D-acceleratorn att förbruka upp till 100 watt.

Under den syntetiska prestandaför jämförelsen placerar sig vår testenhet endast i den nedre mitten av jämförelsefältet. Åldern på AMD Radeon RX 6600Mär märkbar vid det här laget, och efterföljarna baserade på RDNA-3 håller på att bli klara. De som fortfarande behöver en högre 3D-prestanda kan använda Thunderbolt-anslutningen, som för närvarande endast erbjuds i HX99G i serien. Spelprestanda

På grund av denAMD Radeon RX 6600M är den rena spelprestandan hos Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G bra och erbjuder ungefär samma hastighet som en Minisforum Neptune Series HX90G. Den snabbare SoC kan inte garantera en märkbart högre prestanda här. Jämfört med Lenovo Legion 5 med samma grafikkort ligger vårt testprov mycket klart före. Anledningen är strömförbrukningen för den dedikerade pixelacceleratorn, som är maximalt 100 watt genomgående med Minisforum .

När vi diskuterade de syntetiska riktmärkena har vi redan nämnt möjligheten att ansluta ett externt grafikkort via Thunderbolt. Kylningen av Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G består av totalt sju heatpipes och två stora fläktar. Minisforum använder sig här av värmepasta för en perfekt värmeöverföring från SoC- och GPU-disken till kylflänsarna. Vid tomgångsdrift går systemet nästan alltid mycket tyst och med 31,7 dB(A) nästan ljudlöst. Under belastningen i stresstestet rapporterar vår mätutrustning knappt mer än 36 dB(A). Jämfört med en liknande utrustad bärbar dator för spel är detta betydligt tystare, och vår testenhet är långt ifrån att producera ett irriterande, högfrekvent fläktljud.

Temperaturer

Det finns inga problem alls med temperaturerna i Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G. Vid en maximal temperatur på 77,5 °C (171,5 °F) är AMD Ryzen 9 6900HXinte heller särskilt varm och förblir långt ifrån sin termiska gräns. Det ser dock något annorlunda ut med det dedikerade grafikkortet, vilket vi redan tidigare sett i den Minisforum Neptune Sereis HX90G. Även om själva chippet med 76 °C inte är problemet ser vi en mycket hög temperatur i spänningsomvandlarna med 102 °C. De separata värdena är minimalt bättre om vi torterar enheten med enbart FurMark. Då ser vi bara 97 °C (207 °F), medan det fortfarande var 103 °C (217 °F) iHX90G. Tillverkaren verkar ha optimerat kylaren något här. Under stresstestet, som simulerar ett extremt scenario, stiger temperaturerna högre än vid daglig drift, på grund av den extrema belastningen på CPU och GPU. Vi observerade ingen strypning av prestandan på grund av för höga temperaturer i vår testenhet.

Med en strömförbrukning på mellan 16,8 och 23,1 watt vid tomgångsdrift är Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G ganska effektiv. Vid full belastning under stresstestet med Prime95 och FurMark måste nätaggregatet kunna leverera upp till 262 watt. Eftersom den också är dimensionerad för 262 watt är den tillräckligt stor för att tillförlitligt förse enheten med tillräcklig effekt. Under testet stötte vi inte på några som helst problem med strömförsörjningen.

Testning av Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G, testenhet tillhandahållen av Minisforum

Med Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G utför tillverkaren en del produktunderhåll på sina mycket kompakta speldatorer. Med den nya AMD Ryzen 9 6900HXfinns det en snabb SoC, även om den inte kan garantera en märkbar ökning av prestandan jämfört med AMD Ryzen 9 5900HX. På grund av den kompakta konstruktionen ser vi att som så ofta används laptopteknik även här i dessa kompakta datorer. Vanligtvis fungerar detta mycket bra, eftersom prestandan hos de separata komponenterna har ökat enormt under de senaste åren. Med den inhemska octa-core-processorn (AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX) finns det tillräcklig prestanda, och i kombination med den AMD Radeon RX 6600Mkan du till och med njuta av de mest aktuella spelen. Enligt våra tester är obegränsat spelande möjligt i 1080p och de högsta detaljinställningarna.

Precis som Minisforum Neptune Series HX90G använder den aktuella HX99G-modellen också ett nästan identiskt hölje. Visuellt sett finns det knappt några skillnader. Om du tittar noga kan du dock se vissa skillnader på baksidan som beror på en modern mängd anslutningar. Det finns nu USB4 inklusive Thunderbolt, som endast finns i HX99G i kombination med HX99G AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX. Detta gör att du kan utöka spektrumet av användningsscenarier för den kompakta datorn avsevärt. Vi har dock fortfarande ett klagomål här, eftersom HDMI endast tillåter 4K@60Hz. Å andra sidan kan du också köra två 8K-skärmar vid 60 Hz med hjälp av USB4, eller alternativt också använda den här porten för 4K@144Hz. På grund av enhetsklassen (gaming PC) kan vi komma över bristen på en kortläsare.

Minisforum Neptune Series HX90G är en snygg kompakt speldator för Full-HD-spel utan kompromisser.

Vi vill också positivt betona Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G:s låga utsläppsvärden under belastning. Enheten är relativt tyst, trots att det finns två fläktar som blåser ut värmen från höljet. Vår testenhet kunde gå igenom alla våra tester med en solid prestanda och utan några större felsteg. När det gäller systemprestanda kan den hålla jämna steg med vanliga stationära datorer, och spelprestandan är också respektabel tack vare AMD Radeon RX 6600M.

Konkurrenterna till Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G är i första hand andra interna enheter som Minisforum Neptune Series HX90G eller Minisforum Neptune Series HX90G Minisforum NUCXi7. Men det finns också några bärbara datorer som kan konkurrera med HX99G, eftersom med Lenovo Legion 5finns det en attraktiv enhet med liknande utrustning för för närvarande 1 380 euro (~1 481 dollar).

Minisforum Neptune Series HX99G finns direkt i Minisforums onlinebutik. Det finns för närvarande fortfarande några attraktiva rabatter för förhandsförsäljningen. Till exempel behöver du bara betala $979 för vår testenhet, medan priset utan rabatten är 1219 dollar. Den mer prisvärda barebone-modellen börjar för närvarande på 839 dollar. I USA levereras HX99G med början i början av mars enligt Minisforum.
