Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

ASUS ROG Strix SCAR III G531WG är en gedigen spellaptop. Föga förvånande körs moderna AAA-spel smidigt på Full HD-skärmen med 240 Hz bilduppdatering samtidigt som dess RTX 2070 GPU också är tillräckligt kraftfull för att hantera spel i 4K på en extern skärm. Datorn är dessutom lätt att reparera och underhålla och vi uppskattade den inkluderade Keystone-säkerheten. Det numeriska tangentbordet som är inbyggt i styrplattan var också en trevlig detalj som får ROG Strix att stå ut från sina konkurrenter.

ASUS ROG Strix SCAR III G531WG är en gedigen spellaptop på 15.6 tum. Men högljudda fläktar och undermålig prestanda från dess RTX 2070 hindrar den från att få toppbetyg.

Tyvärr presterade ROG Strix inte så bra i prestandatesterna och speltesterna som vi hade förväntat oss. Andra bärbara speldatorer får helt enkelt ut mer prestanda ur liknande hårdvara än vad vår recensionsenhet fick. Dessutom har ASUS utrustat enheten med straffbart högljudda fläktar, som dränker de imponerande högtalarna. Det går tyvärr bara att uppskatta högtalarna när man inte spelar spel. Det är också synd att ASUS inte erbjuder ett alternativ för en 4K-skärm eftersom ROG Strix är tillräckligt kraftfull för att kunna spela moderna AAA-spel i den upplösningen. Totalt sett är det mycket som talar för ROG Strix SCAR III G531GW, men den hålls tillbaka av ett antal betydande brister.
