Predator Helios 700 är en väldigt intressant spellaptop från Acer som har många innovativa idéer - från utbytbara WASD-knappar till en skjutmekanism för inmatningsenheterna - även om Acer inte använder det förbättrade kylsystemet för att begränsa ljudnivån utan snarare för att öka prestandan.
Acer överklockar sin GeForce GPU för att få ut mesta möjliga ur den. Enheten håller sig behagligt sval trots överklockningen, men i gengäld blir den väldigt högljudd. Det var inte i huvudsak ljudnivån som störde oss utan snarare de varierande varvtalen, som oftast inte kändes motiverade. För att sammanfatta så borde Acer verkligen arbeta på sitt kylsystem.
Andra svagheter inkluderar att styrplattan hamnar för långt in på basenheten, att den saknar en kortläsare och att batteritiden är dålig. Höljet lämnade ett blandat intryck. Även om gamers kommer bli nöjda med de många portarna, det bra tangentbordet, de kraftfulla högtalarna och de många alternativen för bakgrundsbelysning så känns den kraftiga konstruktionen (ingen tunn infattning) och den höga vikten inte riktigt moderna 2019. Vi var dock nöjda med 144 Hz-skärmen som hade ett högt kontrastförhållande, trots att den också led av en del svagheter (färgprecision, ljusstyrka och ljusfördelning).
Totalt sett bör Acer-fans som vill spela alla moderna spel med höga detaljer och som har tillräckligt med pengar definitivt ta en titt på denna 17-tumsenhet. Övriga kan istället tänkas föredra en mer klassisk (och troligen billigare) toppskiktslaptop utan alla de krusiduller som Predator Helios 700 har (exempelvis Helios 300 eller Triton 500).
Observera: Predator Helios 700 är en av de första bärbara speldatorerna som utvärderats utifrån de utökade (och svårare) v7-omdömena och det verkar därför som att den fått sämre resultat än andra toppskiktsenheter som vi testat den senaste tiden. I framtiden kommer alla nya spelmaskiner värderas enligt v7-omdömet.
