Omdöme - Bra uppgradering från Acer

Vi får ge Acer beröm för att de accepterat och svarat på kritiken. De har gjort många ändringar på rätt ställen - och resultatet är imponerande.
Viktigast av allt är att Acer äntligen lyckats få prestandan rätt igen. Vår recensionsenhet kunde hålla jämna steg med sina konkurrenter - till skillnad från den kraftigt strypta föregångaren. Vi var också nöjda med skärmen som tillslut är mer ljusstark och har en matt yta. Den ökade ljusstyrkan påverkar inte kontrastförhållandet, som istället har förbättrats. En annan positiv förändring är att den återigen fått ett större batteri och därmed längre batteritid. Vi förvånades också av den bra SSD-enheten, systemets allmänna prestanda samt 3D-prestandan som lätt slår konkurrenter utrustade med äldre Intel UHD-grafik. Snabbare WiFi och stöd för Thunderbolt 3 rundar av listan över positiva egenskaper.
Det är inte mycket vi kan kritisera Swift 5 för. USB 2.0-porten borde bytts ut mot en mer modern USB-standard och datorn saknar återigen en kortläsare. Portutbudet är dessutom mer begränsat än på andra ultrabook-modeller. Vi måste också nämna att datorns RAM är fastlött, så det går inte att byta ut eller utöka. Energiförbrukningen har gått upp, vilket innebär att batteritiden är medelmåttig som bäst trots större batterikapacitet. Själva prestandan har ökat, men enheten lyckas ändå inte få ut mesta möjliga ur sin CPU. Detta beror dock på den vanliga nödvändiga kompromissen mellan prestanda och kylning, som Acer har löst rätt bra på Swift 5.
Mycket beröm och knappt någon kritik åt nya Swift 5. Denna ultrabook på 14 tum är liten och lätt, har en bra tryckkänslig skärm och levererar rätt prestanda. Den tycks ha fått en totalt sett bra uppgradering jämfört med sin föregångare.
Med tanke på dessa resultat kan vi glatt rekommendera Acers nya modell, som för tillfället går att få tag på för runt 9.000 kronor.
