Apple bestämde sig för att inte ge iPad Pro 10.5 någon komplett makeover. Istället satsade man på reella förbättringar där det räknas. Särskilt den nya skärmen är imponerande, med utmärkta egenskaper och HDR-möjligheter som kommer att intressera alla som gillar filmer, tv-serier och spel. Tyvärr kunde vi inte uppmäta den utlovade P3-färgrymden, utan bara det mindre sRGB-färgutrymmet.
Surfplattan har högkvalitativa kommunikationsmoduler men stöder fortfarande inte den europeiska Galileo GNSS-positioneringen. Apple har också snålat på minnet, som är långsammare än föregångarens, men det är inget som märks i daglig användning.
Sammantaget har Apple lyckats skapa en utmärkt produkt som sätter ribban väldigt högt för konkurrenterna. Den enda verkliga utmanaren är Samsungs Galaxy Tab S3, som dock har en äldre systemkrets och mindre lagring.
Lagringskapaciteten har ökats, men det har också startpriset. Den minsta modellen (64 GB) är fullt tillräcklig för de flesta användare, speciellt eftersom video och ljudinnehåll ofta streamas nuförtiden. Vi anser att modellen med 256 GB är det bästa köpet, då den till och med är lite billigare än sin föregångare med samma lagringskapacitet. 512-GB-modellen kan rekommenderas för användare som vill ha sin egen multimediasamling tillgänglig offline eller vill använda plattan för att redigera video eller bearbeta bilder.
IPad Pro 10.5 har så bra prestanda att du kanske funderar på att använda den istället för din bärbara dator. Oavsett om det gäller videoredigering av UHD-material eller bildbehandling med Adobe Lightroom fungerar iPad Pro 10.5 snabbt och effektivt, även om vi känner att Smart Keyboard inte är tillräckligt flexibelt och bara fungerar bra på hårda ytor. Däremot är Safari-webbläsarens problem med CMS och andra komplexa webbaserade appar irriterande och filhanteringen är för låst. Därför anser vi att iPad Pro är en bra surfplatta, men ingen ersättare för datorn.
