Specifikationerna och funktionerna hos Apple iPhone X är väldigt lika dom hos iPhone 8 Plus, men detta är inte något dåligt. Skillnaderna är viktiga och dom rör det visuella. Apple använder inte bara en 2:1-skärm för första gången, utan det är också den största skärmen på en iPhone hittills och den första baserad på OLED-teknik. Skärmen är väldigt bra, men den aningen underliga designen är definitivt en fråga om smak.
Avsaknaden av en Hem-knapp och Touch ID är den andra stora förändringen. Båda har bytts ut av Face ID. Den scannar av ansiktet, men med tanke på risken att den informationen missbrukas så borde man se kritiskt på denna funktion ur integritets-synpunkt. Apple påstår att informationen endast lagras på telefonen och att appar endast kan göra förfrågningar när identiteten stämmer, men i slutändan är det en fråga om vem man litar på. Denna skepsis diskuterades även när fingeravtrycksläsare släpptes, men ingen bryr sig om det längre eftersom den funktionen gör våra liv lättare. Face ID är trots allt väldigt bekvämt och fungerar faktiskt bra.
Kraftfull teknik, ny design och Face ID - detta är iPhone X. Men är den tillräcklig för att få smartphone-kronan.
Du får också en bra kamera, som tar hyfsade bilder och är definitivt referensen när du vill spela in video med din telefon. Apple är för tillfället den enda tillverkaren med Ultra HD-inspelning i 60 FPS. Telefonen lyckas också ha en bra skärm-till-kropp ratio och iPhone X är inte lika klumpig som iPhone 8 Plus, men lika tung. I övrigt får du alla funktioner man kan förvänta sig från en avancerad modern telefon. Det är fortfarande inte möjligt att utöka lagringsutrymmet och det förväntade vi oss inte heller. Fler och fler Android-telefoner kommer också utan microSD-plats. Vi anser att batteritiden har störst utrymme för förbättring. Du klarar dig en dag, men det finns inte mycket marginal. iPhone X är också på sista plats i vår jämförelsegrupp. Huawei Mate 10 Pro, till exempel, är mycket bättre på denna punkt.
Sen är det priset. iPhone X börjar på ca 11 400 SEK (1149 Euro) och du måste betala över 13 000 (1319 Euro) för versionen med 256 GB. Som jämförelse: Apple säljer den grundläggande iPhone 8 för ca 8 000 SEK (799 Euro) och 8 Plus för ca 9 000 (909 Euro). Med andra ord, Apple lägger på rejält på priset för en ny design och Face ID, men dessa aspekter motiverar inte en uppgradering från iPhone 8- eller 7-modellerna.
