Asus ROG GL753VD kommer i ett skapligt designat, välbyggt och inte alltför spännande chassi med god stabilitet. Valet av portar är tillfredsställande, men det finns inga höjdpunkter, och layouten på den främre delen av sidorna är inte perfekt heller. WiFi-prestandan är exemplarisk och överföringshastigheterna i SD-kortläsaren är okej. En annan positiv aspekt är att du som användare får tillgång till lagringsenheter och minnesplatser (även om du behöver en skruvmejsel). Asus har förbättrat inmatningsenheterna lite jämfört med GL702. Skärmen är välbekant och mycket ljusstark, medan kontrast och färgreproduktion bara får godkänt. Också positivt är att Asus inte använder PWM. Skärmen kan däremot inte hålla jämna steg med snabba 120 Hz-paneler.
Prestandan är lite mer intressant: Kombinationen av en fyrkärnig Intel i7-7700HQ och en GeForce GTX 1050 når oftast upp i bra bilduppdatering i aktuella spel, med Full HD-upplösning och höga inställningar. GTX 960M blir besegrat med cirka 30%, men ett GTX 1060 är fortfarande upp till dubbelt så snabbt. GTX 1050 Ti är cirka 30% snabbare än det vanliga GTX 1050.
I slutändan blir det priset som avgör mellan de bärbara speldatorerna med GTX 1050, GTX 1050 Ti och GTX 1060. Asus ROG Strix GL502VM och andra system med liknande hårdvara kostar inte så mycket mer, men erbjuder mycket mer spelprestanda med en kombination av i7-6700HQ och GTX 1060.
GL753 är alltid sval, men fläkten låter också nästan alltid för mycket – även under tomgång. Ljudet är okej, liksom batterikapaciteten, även om 4–5 timmar i praktiken knappast är imponerande. Huruvida GL753 blir framgångsrik beror främst på prissättningen, eftersom du kan få mycket mer spelprestanda för lite mer pengar. Strix GL753 måste bli betydligt billigare i butikshyllorna.
