Det vi gillar bäst med VivoBook 17 är att det finns många CPU-alternativ och att den är lätt att serva. Det är lättare att lägga till en andra lagringsenhet än på de flesta andra billiga bärbara datorer och man kan välja mellan både Intels U-serie och GeForce MX-grafik eller AMD Ryzen. Behöver man tänka på budgeten går det till exempel att spara pengar genom att köpa en SKU med en liten SSD-enhet för att sedan lägga till mer lagring längre fram. Systemet är relativt lätt och skapligt robust med tanke på prisskiktet och storleksklassen.
I övrigt är det mycket som kan bli bättre. Fastare tangenter, fastare styrplatta, ett skyddsöverdrag för webbkameran, en SD-kortläsare i full storlek och tystare fläktar hade förbättrat användarupplevelsen. En vidare öppningsvinkel och stöd för USB C-laddning hade också gjort den mer praktisk att resa med. I övrigt är detta en skaplig laptop utan krusiduller som varken har något som är särskilt bra eller särskilt dåligt.
En billig laptop på 17.3 tum med enkla lagringsuppgraderingar, ett brett portutbud och ett relativt starkt chassi för sitt pris. Skärmens kvalitet och tangentbordets återkoppling kunde varit bättre.
