Vi recenserade nyss 15.6-tums MSI GF65 som kommer med samma CPU och GPU som vår Asus Zephyrus M GU502GU men som bara kostar hälften så mycket. När en konkurrerande laptop för under 10.000 kronor kan erbjuda samma spelprestanda som en modell för 20.000 kronor får man allt erbjuda tillräckligt många extrafunktioner för att rättfärdiga det höga priset. I Asus fall är GU502GU en blandad kompott. Systemet är större, tjockare, mer högljutt, mer lättböjt och har kortare batteritid och färre portar än Razer Blade 15, som kostar lika mycket som GU502GU. Så om du letar efter något robustare och lyxigare än en budget-spellaptop som GF65 är det svårt att rekommendera Asus då den inte ens kan stå sida vid sida med Razer.
Asus enhet har några mindre fördelar som är värda att nämna. För det första är den en av få bärbara speldatorer som har stöd för USB PD, vilket gör att du kan ladda systemet med valfri USB Typ C-laddare på 65W från tredje part. Att kunna använda en och samma laddare för smartphone, surfplatta, Switch och spellaptop när man reser kan definitivt vara praktiskt för många användare. För det andra kan processorns Turbo Boost, som är högre än genomsnittet, utnyttjas av entusiaster. Och för det tredje har den tangentspecifik RGB-belysning, vilket märkligt nog saknas på tidigare nämnda Razer-modell. Men den korta listan över fördelar bleknar i jämförelse med den långa listan över funktioner som saknas, det svagare chassit och minnet som är konfigurerat i enkanalsläge.
