Låt inte Cubot King Kong lura dig: Trots sitt tunga hölje är skärmen knappt skyddad och dom virtuella touch-knapparna gör den svår att använda med handskar. Den har dessutom låg prestanda och lämpar sig inte för användning i ljusa miljöer. Andra tillverkare erbjuder enheter som verkligen förtjänar namnet "utomhus-telefon". Men låt det vara sagt att enheten har IP68-certifiering, lång batteritid och ren Android.
Här kan du dock inte förvänta dig mer. Kameran tar som bäst urvattnade bilder och högtalaren är inte värd sitt namn - den är väldigt tyst, även om ljudet den producerar låter okej. Avsaknaden av LTE-stöd kan vara avgörande för många.
En del begränsningar går inte att undvika i det här prisskiktet. Trots detta så har Cubot King Kong väldigt bra batteritid och är vatten- och damm-beständig.
Om du letar efter en smartphone som du kan använda i tuffa miljöer kan du vilja spendera lite mer pengar och istället få en kraftfullare enhet som kan användas överallt. Men om du bara är klumpig och den tunga designen tilltalar dig så får du en skaplig smartphone till ett lågt pris.
