Dell Precision 5510: Slim, light and high-performance

Dell Precision 5510 är en mycket tilltalande kontorsdator med iögonfallande egenskaper – främst det tunna chassit i högkvalitativa material, som är både välbyggt och stabilt. Testexemplaret gör mycket bra ifrån sig, även om den uppvisar prestandaförluster i extrema förhållanden. I mer realistiska scenarier är detta förmodligen inget problem alls, ens efter perioder av högre belastning.

En viktig höjdpunkt med Precision 5510 är utan tvekan den extremt lyckade UHD-upplösta IGZO-panelen. Dess stora färgomfång, höga kontrast, anständiga ljusstyrka och enastående färgåtergivning efter kalibrering är imponerande. Den enda nackdelen är dess relativt höga strömförbrukning, vilket resulterar i en ganska genomsnittlig batteritid.

Trots det får det att få ut 3 till 4,5 timmars batteritid med rätt inställningar, beroende på användningsscenario. Detta i kombination med den relativt låga vikten på 2,02 kg ger datorn ett försprång i kategorin.

Även om anslutningsmöjligheterna inte är idealiska för en mobil arbetsstation finns det ändå lite mångsidighet i form av Thunderbolt 3. Den omfattar flera viktiga överföringsstandarder och kan därför enkelt ersätta tillverkarspecifika dockningsportar.

Vissa företagsfunktioner har utelämnats i den här XPS 15-varianten. En fingeravtrycksläsare och Smartcard-läsare är frånvarande, liksom en dedikerad DisplayPort eller mobilt bredbandsmodem.

För ett väl tilltaget pris på ca 30 000 kr (testkonfigurationen) får man som köpare en mångsidig och riktigt snygg mobil arbetsstation. Om det är väl investerade pengar beror helt på personliga behov, krav och önskemål.
