Behöver en subnotebook verkligen en processor med sex kärnor? Om du i huvudsak tänker använda XPS 13 för att surfa på nätet, strömma video, ordbehandla eller utföra andra lättare kontorsuppgifter, vilket serien ursprungligen designades för, räcker den äldre fyrkärniga Core i7-8565U väl. Poängen i PCMark 10 är så nära mellan XPS 13 7390 och XPS 13 9380 att det är svårt att motivera prispåslaget för en sexkärnig XPS 13, särskilt med tanke på att de flesta användarna inte kommer märka skillnaden vid vardagsbruk.
Å andra sidan, proffs som vill använda de två extra kärnorna som Comet Lake U-serien tillför kommer uppskatta faktum att den rena multitrådade prestandan är betydligt högre jämfört med Whiskey Lake-U, även efter att vi tagit de varierande klockfrekvenserna och den begränsade möjligheten att upprätthålla Turbo Boost i beaktande.
