Fujitsus behändiga Lifebook U574 övertygar i vissa avseenden men inte alla. Listan över fördelarna innehåller bland annat utseende, vikt och batteritid och en bra pekplatta.
Andra saker saknas, även om konkurrenterna å andra sidan inte alltid har dem heller. Basenheten är helt enkelt för flexibel för professionellt bruk, vilket inte gör ett gott kvalitetsintryck med tanke på priset. Tangenterna ger jämförelsevis lite feedback, och webbkamerans kvalitet är svår att sätta nämnbara ord på.
Mikrofoninspelningarna blir lika dåliga som högtalarna låter, och den klena TN-skärmen med usel kontrast och begränsade betraktningsvinklar är ingen anledning till glädje med tanke på att IPS-skärmar blir allt vanligare som standard.
Har man inget emot en TN-panel kan man välja den billigare AsusPro Essential PU301LA-RO064G, som har ett bättre tangentbord (med tydligt djup och tryckpunkt). Vill man även ha en bra skärm kan det vara värt att investera lite mer pengar i Toshibas Portégé R30-A-15C med IPS-panel. Även om tangentbordet inte är mycket bättre, är mikrofonen, batteritiden och portutbudet överlägsna.
