Det fanns inte tillräckligt med anledningar att uppgradera från EliteBook 830 G5 till 830 G6, men nya 830 G7 är ett rejält steg framåt i fråga om chassidesign och mobilitet, vilket gör den mycket lättare att rekommendera än föregångarna. Det är inte vanligt med ett bekvämt tangentbord, en super-ljusstark skärm och WAN/WLAN/SSD som går att uppgradera bland konkurrerande system i den här storlekskategorin, vilket inkluderar ThinkPad X13 och Latitude 7310.
Även om vi verkligen gillar det som finns här är det tråkigt att en del också saknas. TrackPoint, musknappar, SD-kortläsare, Iris/GeForce MX-grafik, fingeravtrycksläsare/startknapp-hybrid och närhetssensor saknas oavsett vilken konfiguration du väljer. CPU-prestandan ligger fortsatt under genomsnittet vilket, även om det är förståeligt för en subnotebook, inte är idealt för den som kan tänkas vilja använda processorn fullt ut.
HP EliteBook 830 G7 är en kontorslaptop från mittenskiktet som känns som en betydligt lyxigare produkt. Den saknar en del funktioner som traditionellt sett brukar förknippas med bärbara kontorsdatorer, men den kompenserar för detta med en robust konstruktion, goda servicemöjligheter, en ljusstark skärm och en utmärkt skrivupplevelse.
