Bärbara datorer med AMD:s senaste Renoir-processorer förtjänar mer uppmärksamhet än de får med tanke på att de presterar bättre än de vanliga Intel-alternativen trots samma eller lägre pris. Detta gäller särskilt när det kommer till grafikprestandan. Om programmen du kör kan dra nytta av extra fysiska kärnor eller högre GPU-prestanda är det ingen tvekan om att du vill ha en konfiguration med Ryzen 5 eller Ryzen 7. Det är bara synd att HP inte har dessa AMD-alternativ på fler av sina EliteBook-modeller eller på Dragonfly och EliteBook 1030/1040-serien.
Vad det gäller skärmen tycker vi det är värt att överväga en uppgradering från 250 nit till 400 nit eftersom den sistnämnda även har djupare och mer exakta färger utöver den ökade ljusstyrkan. Batteritiden påverkas inte särskilt mycket och det blir lite lättare att se bilden utomhus. Rätt konfigurerad gör EliteBook 846 G7 nästan allt rätt.
EliteBook 845 G7 är den snabbaste bärbara kontorsdatorn på 14 tum som vi sett med en AMD-processor. Fler tillverkare borde följa efter HP och använda 6- eller 8-kärniga processorer från Ryzen U-serien till sina kontorsfokuserade Ultrabook-modeller. Om du absolut måste ha Thunderbolt-stöd och en SD-kortläsare får du däremot leta någon annanstans.
