När vi körde våra prover och prestandatester på Spectre x360 så frågade vi er, våra läsare, vilka dom viktigaste funktionerna är hos en högkvalitativ omvandlingsbar och portabilitet, batteritid, spoltjut, prestanda och höljets stabilitet var bland dom allra viktigaste faktorerna. Generellt sett så förväntas en omvandlingsbar vara portabel till en viss grad; höljet måste vara robust och batteritiden måste vara tillräckligt lång. Höljet på x360 är väldigt robust med tanke på dess vikt och tjocklek. Den är förstås inte helt immun mot böjning och vridning, men betydligt mer så än Ultrabook-modellen Spectre 13. Gångjärnen verkade också mer slitstarka och fasta.

Den andra portabilitetsaspekten - batteritid - har åtgärdats av ett batteri på 60 Wh (jämfört med Ultrabook-modellens lilla batteri på 43 Wh). Tack vare låg energiförbrukning och en aktiv dynamisk strypningspolicy så lyckades Spectre x360 till och med att springa ifrån Lenovo Yoga 920 med sitt batteri på 70 Wh. Priset du får betala är lägre system- och CPU-prestanda - Lenovo Yoga 920 är mycket snabbare på alla sätt jämfört med Spectre x360. Om batteritiden är det allra viktigaste så föreslår vi att man håller sig borta från 4K-modellen då den kommer att reducera batteritiden betydligt.

Totalt sett så var prestandan hos dess Core i7-8550U stabil, bortsett från grafiskt intensiv belastning eller spel där dess UHD Graphics 620 var märkbart långsammare än hos andra jämförbart utrustade laptops. Vardagliga arbetsuppgifter var dock ingen utmaning alls. Styrplattan och den tryckkänsliga skärmen fungerade bra, men tyvärr kunde vi inte recensera stylusen som finns som tillval.

Priset må verka överdrivet när man tittar på Spectres prestandapoäng, men konstruktionskvalitet och design kompenserar för det.

The price obviously depends on your choice of hardware, and the device can be configured according to your individual liking in HP’s web store. The base model starts at $999 and includes an i5-8250U CPU, 8 GB of RAM, and a 360 GB SSD (currently a free upgrade from the usual 256 GB SSD); a fully specced model (4K display, i7-8550U, 16 GB RAM, 1 TB SSD) will cost you almost $1,700.

If you find the Spectre x360 too expensive maybe the 13-inch Acer Spin 5 (i7-8550U, 16 GB RAM, 512 GB SSD) might be an option. Its performance is comparable to the Spectre x360 but it lacks a Thunderbolt 3.0 port. It is also 1 cm thicker and cannot really compete with the x360 in terms of design.
