Är HP ZBook 17 G3 en perfekt arbetsstation? Svaret är nej, men den är mycket bra. Vi gillar särskilt chassit, som är i toppklass kvalitetsmässigt. Datorn har också moderna portar, ett brett sortiment av komponenter och underhållsmöjligheterna är utmärkta.
En större nackdel är temperaturer och fläktljud, där vissa konkurrenter presterar mycket bättre, trots liknande komponenter. Full HD-skärmen kan inte helt övertyga oss heller. Den är välkalibrerad direkt ur lådan och kontrasten är mycket hög, men ljusstyrkan är lägre jämfört med konkurrenterna, inklusive föregångaren. 4K Dreamcolor-skärmen (tillval) ska prestera bättre i det här avseendet, men sådana konfigurationer är inte tillgängliga ännu. Ett annat problem med vår enhet är gnisslande gångjärn, men det kan vara en isolerad företeelse.
En annan viktig aspekt är naturligtvis priset, och vår testmodell är extremt dyr med en prislapp på mer än 40 000 kr. Det lönar sig säkert att ta en titt på några enklare konfigurationer, som börjar på mindre än hälften.
Vi har nu gått igenom alla de senaste workstation-modellerna från de stora tillverkarna och det är inte lätt att välja en klar vinnare. ZBook 17 G3 får ett högt betyg, men varje maskin i klassen har sin egen uppsättning för- och nackdelar, så personliga preferenser och planerat användningsscenario är viktigt i sammanhanget. Det mest negativa med ZBook 17 G3 är temperaturhanteringen.
