Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Till en början låter Huawei Y7 2018 som ett bra erbjudande tack vare dess moderna design, relativt högupplösta framåtriktade kamera och dess låga pris. Men dessa positiva aspekter vägs ner av en del brister. I huvudsak utdaterade säkerhetsuppdateringar för Android och en mörk skärm.

Men batteritiden är skaplig, hantverket är på en bra nivå och dess GPS är tillräckligt exakt för en enhet på den här prisnivån. Bilderna är dessutom oväntat skarpa.

På samma sätt är systemprestandan lämplig för sin klass och monohögtalaren är godkänd. Enheten håller sig dessutom ganska sval vid belastning.

Frustrerande nog så lyckas Y7 2018 inte vara bättre än sin föregångare på en del områden. Som exempel är batteritiden sämre, högtalaren tystare, prestandan är samma och modemet är långsammare och stödjer färre LTE-band.

Huawei Y7 2017 är ett gediget val för den som letar efter en smartphone med en stor skärm men som inte vill spendera mycket pengar.

Y7 2018 är en billig "phablet" som fortfarande har bäst prisförhållande i sin klass, trots att konkurrenterna har förbättrat sig.
