Intel Core i7-9700K är en kraftfull och imponerande CPU. Den är inte lika potent som Core i9-9900K, men den åttakärnig processorn kan med sina grundinställningar leverera upp till 4.9 GHz på en enkel kärna och 4.6 GHz på alla kärnorna. Vi rekommenderar dock att köpa en skaplig kylare, då Core i7-9700K blev riktigt varm under våra tester.

Generellt sätt är Core i7-9700K i de flesta scenarier jämförbar med Core i9-9900K. De extra trådarna den sistnämnda har kommer inte göra någon skillnad i spel, men du kan märka en skillnad om du använder många flertrådade applikationer. Core i7-9700K har också en högre IPC-volym jämfört med AMD:s APU:er. Men Threadripper APU:er med minst 12 kärnor presterar konsekvent bättre än Core i7-9700K i flertrådade applikationer och prestandatester.

I korthet är Core i7-9700K den näst snabbaste åttakärniga processorn från Intel näst efter Core i9-9900K. Core i7-9700K presterar bättre i spel än sin föregångare och kommer kunna leverera rejäl spelprestanda i åratal framöver.

Oturligt nog för Intel är AMD:s APU:er fortfarande mer prisvärda. Core i7-9700K kostar för tillfället runt 4.190 kronor, vilket är ca 1.000 kronor dyrare än Ryzen 7 2700X. Core i7-9700K har dessutom sämre flerkärnig prestanda, även om den presterar bättre än Ryzen 7 2700X i enkeltrådade applikationer som spel.

Vidare rekommenderar vi Core i7-9700K framför dess dyrare syskon, främst på grund av skillnaden i pris. Prestandaskillnaden mellan de två processorerna är liten och det går istället att spara pengarna för att köpa en kraftigare GPU, vilket skulle ge en totalt sett bättre spelupplevelse.

Intel Core i7-9700K är ett vettigt val från den nya 9:e generationens Core-processorer. Den levererar praktiskt taget samma prestanda som Core i9-9900K men till ett betydligt lägre pris. Lägg skillnaden i fickan och köp en bättre GPU istället.

En annan sideffekt som kommer av att ha hög klockfrekvens och IPC är hög energiförbrukning. Core i7-9700K drar betydligt mer än det angivna TDP-värdet, vilket som gissat ökar ytterligare när processorn är överklockad. Totalt sett är Core i7-9700K en fantastisk desktop-processor för spel redan med sina grundläggande inställningar, så vi ser ingen fördel med överklockning eller "delidding". Du kan dock alltid betala extra för Caseking Advanced, Pro eller Ultra Pretested Editions om du vill ha bättre prestanda.
