LG G8 ThinQ är en fascinerande smartphone. Dess luftrörelse-gester ger en blick in i framtiden och skulle kunna innebära innovativa sätt att styra enheten när mjukvaran har mognat mer. På samma sätt kan luftgesterna göra det enklare att ta foton. Men för tillfället är det mer av en trevlig gimmick som du kan visa vänner och familj. Men med det sagt, en magiker måste studera sina magitrick väl, för luftgesterna är ofta svåra att få till rätt.
Det är dock inte det enda tricket LG G8S ThinQ kan. Den har utmärkt och exakt navigering och använder dessutom sin Snapdragon 855 SoC väl. Vi uppskattade att enheten höll sig sval vid ihållande belastning, även om energiförbrukningen var högre än vi hade önskat. Vidare har G8S ThinQ skapliga kameror, en imponerande skärm och rejäl batteritid. Stereohögtalarna levererade bra ljud och den har både snabbt WiFi och en snabb fingeravtrycksläsare. Hörlursanslutning och utökningsbar lagring är dessutom ganska sällsynt på ett flaggskepp från 2019.
Nackdelarna? Tja, den bakåtriktade kameran var en besvikelse i situationer med låg ljusnivå, telefonens SoC stryps vid ihållande belastning och vi har redan nämnt att den har hög energiförbrukning vid belastning. Men det är de enda större problemen vi har med G8S ThinQ. Det går att köpa telefoner med snabbare WiFi och snabbare lagring, men skillnaderna är i praktiken minimala.
De innovativa ToF-funktionerna är för tillfälllet ganska mycket av en gimmick, men LG G8S ThinQ lyckas med grunderna och är en utmärkt flaggskeppstelefon.
Det stora jacket kan också tänkas skrämma bort en del köpare, men det är en epidemi som drabbat många moderna flaggskepp. Sammanfattningsvis är LG G8S ThinQ ett skapligt alternativ till den etablerade ordningen, särskilt eftersom priset redan börjat sjunka.
