LG V40 ThinQ är en förbättring över V30 och innehåller en del av de bra funktionerna från G7 ThinQ samtidigt som den har bättre kamera och systemprestanda än båda dessa enheter.
Men kamerorna, trots sin volym, står sig inte mot de bästa som finns på marknaden för tillfället. Batteriet är dessutom en aning för litet för den energi som går åt till dess högupplösta skärm, DAC och SoC. De tre högtalarna är heller inte så bra som de hade kunnat vara, vilket är en besvikelse.
LG V40 ThinQ kommer troligen glömmas bort när 2019 års flaggskepp anländer, vilket är synd eftersom det är en utmärkt smartphone som inte riktigt räcker till för att vara bra nog på vissa nödvändiga områden.
Det är dock de enda riktiga nackdelarna med V40. Den har en av de bästa videoinspelningsfunktionerna på hela smartphone-marknaden och den har en nedtonad men ändå lyxig design. HiFi Quad DAC och högupplösta Bluetooth-kodek gör också en välkomnad återkomst och bör garantera att V40 levererar exceptionell ljudkvalitet oavsett om du lyssnar trådbundet eller trådlöst.
Något vi måste påpeka med V40 är priset. LG G8 ThinQ släpps under de kommande dagarna och kommer att prestera bättre än V40 på många områden, så timingen för den sistnämndas släpp i Europa känns konstig. Vi förväntar oss dock att priset minskar under de kommande månaderna, precis som för V30, så LG V40 ThinQ kan vara en dold hit under 2019.
