Ibland är vissa designbeslut märkliga. Med IdeaPad 500s-14ISK, Lenovo gjorde många saker rätt – från byggkvalitet till inmatningsenheter och bra spelprestanda verkar datorn vara en solid och kompakt allroundmaskin. Den kan hålla jämna steg med Zenbook, XPS 13, etc. i många avseenden.
Dock har Lenovo tummat på två mycket viktiga detaljer och missar därför ett toppbetyg. TN-skärmen är långt under genomsnittet. Vi har testat många budgetmaskiner som erbjuder bättre bildkvalitet trots ett lågt pris. Dessutom hålls batteritiden nere på grund av ett underdimensionerat batteri på 30 Wh.
Priset för en IdeaPad 500s-14ISK är lägre än för en Asus Zenbook med liknande hårdvara. Om Lenovo hade hade ägnat lite mer tid åt skärm och batteri kunde de ha skapat ett utmärkt system för ett fortfarande mycket rimligt pris.
Nu är det tvärtom: Den som inte behöver räkna varje krona bör ta en närmare titt på alternativen. En bra skärm och ett långlivat batteri är mycket viktiga komponenter, och du kan få både och för en bara något högre kostnad.
