Lenovo kallar Y700-serien en instegslösning för spel som även levererar en komplett multimediaupplevelse. Mot den bakgrunden är uppdateringen en framgång, eftersom grunderna är utmärkta. 

Bildkvaliteten är mycket bra med snabba svarstider, byggkvaliteten har förbättrats jämfört med föregående generation och systemet stryps inte när du spelar. Batteritiden är mycket bra med Optimus aktiverat och de dubbla lagringsplatserna gör datorn mycket mer praktisk än sin föregångare som spelmaskin.

Baksidorna med Y700 uppdagas efter att ha spenderat lite mer tid med datorn – detaljer som att färgåtergivningen bara är genomsnittlig och att det saknas framtidssäkra portar i form av USB typ-C. Väljer man man en billigare modell får man en GTX 960M med bara halva mängden VRAM. Bristen på NVMe, mDP och dedikerade makroknappar är andra faktorer som separerar Y700-serien från de tyngre kanonerna i genren.

Spelare med en stram budget bör trots allt överväga 15,6-tummaren Y700 eftersom den för närvarande är ett av de mest prisvärda systemen med GTX 960M, i konkurrens med Acer Aspire V15 Nitro. Vi rekommenderar att man avstår både UHD- och pekskärmsalternativ till förmån för en SKU med sekundär hårddisk och ett GTX 960M med 4 GB VRAM.
