Lenovo Legion Y520 är ett bra val för budgetmedvetna gamers. Den har godkänd CPU- och GPU-prestanda, bra inmatningsenheter och kan underhållas/uppgraderas relativt enkelt. Att designen har underordnats funktionaliteten kan man kanske ha överseende med eftersom priset är jämförelsevis lågt.

Nvidia-kretsen GTX 1050 Ti kan inte mäta sig med GTX 1070/1080-kretsarna som används i dyrare modeller, men grafikkortet klarar de flesta spel i 1080p med höga inställningar och respektabel framerate. Datorn får heller inga värmerelaterade problem under tung belastning. Den Y520-konfiguration vi testar här är också utrustad med en extremt snabb NVMe-SSD på 256 GB, som kompletterats med en mekanisk hårddisk på 2 TB.

Den största nackdelen med datorn är bristen på GPU-uppgraderingsalternativ, men det är knappast någon överraskning eftersom Y720 är nästa logiska kliv upp. 

Ett annat minus är designen – här finns inga styva metallytor eller RGB-belysning, utan bara plast i olika färger. Slutligen är skärmen en besvikelse, då den saknar både ljusstyrka och färgmättnad. 

För några extra tusenlappar kan Y720 vara ett mer tilltalande alternativ (beroende på budget). Och andra maskiner som Dell Inspiron 15 7567 kan också vara värda en titt. Men i budgetklassen lyckas Y520 tillräckligt bra. Den är snabb, pålitlig och inte minst betydligt billigare än många konkurrenter.
