Lenovo ThinkPad T490 är en utmärkt företagslaptop med eller utan GPU från NVIDIA. Modellen utan NVIDIA-chippet är på en del områden en aning bättre än den mer tekniskt kapabla varianten av T490, vilket ökar poängsumman till 91% istället för de 90% vi gav dess MX250-utrustade syskon.
Bland annat kan nämnas att vår recensionsenhet hade bättre batteritid än ThinkPad T490-modellen med dedikerad GPU. Den förstnämnda höll sig dessutom svalare och led inte av det irriterande högtalarljudet som plågade vår första recensionsenhet. Lenovo har i princip eliminerat detta helt med en BIOS-uppdatering, så det bör inte längre påverka någon variant av ThinkPad T490.
Vidare stryps inte Intel-versionen av T490 i vårt stresstest, tack vare en till namnet svagare CPU. De övriga höjdpunkterna från vårt första test av T490 gäller också här och inkluderar ett robust och lätt hölje, fantastiska inmatningsenheter och en ljusstark skärm med god färgprecision. Vi uppskattade också det mångsidiga portutbudet samt att CPU-prestandan låg över genomsnittet.
Båda modellerna lider dock av i stort sett samma brister. Den energieffektiva skärmen har dåliga responstider och det är synd att det är en microSD-kortläsare som ingår istället för en i full storlek. På samma sätt förstår vi inte varför Lenovo bara låter Thunderbolt 3-porten använda två PCIe-banor, även om det är trevligt att en Thunderbolt 3-port ingår. Vidare är det svårt att ta isär och sätta ihop höljet och avsaknaden av Power Bridge-funktionen gör T490 mindre flexibel än sina föregångare.
Svalare och mer uthållig: Intel GPU-varianten av Lenovo ThinkPad T490 är på en del områden bättre än syskonet med en GPU från NVIDIA och är totalt sett en fantastisk företagslaptop.
Sammanfattningsvis bör T490 med en Intel-GPU vara mer än tillräcklig för den som inte behöver den extra grafikkapaciteten som kommer av ett GeForce MX250. Men om du ibland spelar spel efter jobbet eller behöver en laptop som du kan redigera video på är däremot T490 med en NVIDIA-GPU i vårt tycke ett bättre val.
