Screen Flickering / PWM (Pulse-Width Modulation)

To dim the screen, some notebooks will simply cycle the backlight on and off in rapid succession - a method called Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) . This cycling frequency should ideally be undetectable to the human eye. If said frequency is too low, users with sensitive eyes may experience strain or headaches or even notice the flickering altogether.

Lenovo Z5 Pro är en riktigt intressant smartphone som går att få tag på för ca 3.000 kronor. Slider-mekanismen gör att en mittenskiktsenhet kan skryta med ett utseende som fram tills nu har varit förbehållet smartphone-eliten: en stor skärm som i princip saknar infattning. Hantverket och materialvalet ger denna Lenovo-telefon ett yttre av hög kvalitet.

Till skillnad från sina slider-konkurrenter från Xiaomi och Honor är Lenovo Z5 Pro utrustad med en Snapdragon 710. Chippet är såpass snabbt att man knappt märker någon skillnad mellan enheterna vid användning till vardags. Det är bara grafiskt krävande spel som man kan tänkas behöva undvika med Z5 Pro. Bristen på en modern lagringstyp är ett större problem då det har en märkbar negativ inverkan på tiden det tar för applikationer att starta. På grund av det finns det tydliga skillnader i hastighet jämfört med Mi Mix 3.

Z5 Pro introducerar slider-mekanismen till mittenskiktstelefonerna. Men denna Kinesiska tillverkare borde lägga lite mer tid på att optimera sin slidertelefons mjukvara.

Vid skrivande stund går det inte att få tag på Z5 Pro i USA. Det betyder att telefonen behöver importeras, vilket medför en del begränsningar, såsom brist på LTE-stöd, och innebär också vissa risker.
