Att en produkt som bär varumärket Porsche inte är särskilt prisvärd är kanske ingen överraskning, men sportbilarna håller ändå förväntade nivåer vad gäller prestanda och kvalitet. Så är inte fallet med den här datorn från Porsche Design. Vi testar sällan enheter med där klyftan är så stor mellan de goda och dåliga aspekterna.
Det positiva inkluderar definitivt den ljusa pekskärmen, surfplattans utmärkta byggkvalitet, digitizern med magnetisk fixering och det bekväma tangentbordet. Du får även en modern IR-kamera för ansiktsigenkänning och lång batteritid i kombination med tangentbordsdockan.
De negativa aspekterna uppväger tyvärr de positiva och mer därtill, särskilt ergonomin och ljudnivån. 2-i-1-datorn är extremt tung, vilket gör det svårt att använda den bärbara datorn i knät. Gångjärnen har problem med surfplattans vikt och kanterna längst ner (där du vanligtvis håller i plattan) är inte rundade. Och tangentbordets belysning fungerar bara riktigt bra i fullständigt mörker – annars kämpar den med låg kontrast och ojämn ljusstyrkefördelning.
De två största problemen är de nästan konstanta elektroniska ljuden och den låga prestandan. Core i7-processorn stryps konstant trots den aktiva kyllösningen och kan inte ens utnyttja en kärna med maximal prestanda under kort maxbelastning. Strypning är ett välkänt problem för tunna enheter, men testmodellen ligger inte nära den utlovade prestandanivån. Trots det är strömförbrukningen hög och batteritiden kort när du använder surfplattan utan dockan.
Vi kan inte rekommendera den här datorn eftersom konkurrenterna både är bättre och mer prisvärda. Vi gjorde avdrag från slutbetyget eftersom enheten knappt går att använda som bärbar dator och för att batteritiden är extremt kort när du bara använder surfplattan.
