Samsung Galaxy S10+ är definitivt en värdig efterföljare till sin föregångare och är en sann flaggskeppstelefon. Men den senaste modellen i Galaxy S-serien är inte lika prisvärd som sin föregångare, i huvudsak på grund av att konkurrenterna har kommit ifatt den senaste året. Det bästa exemplet på detta är skärmen och kamerorna. Skärmen är utmärkt, men den har inte lika bra ljusstyrka och färgprecision som skärmarna på våra jämförelseenheter. Och även om kameran tar fantastiska bilder och spelar in utmärkt video så finns det bättre alternativ när det kommer till fotografering i situationer med lite ljus. Samsung har helt enkelt blivit lite för självgoda med sin kamerateknik de senaste två åren.
Exynos 9820 är också ett riktigt kraftpaket, men den kommer troligen att hamna efter Snapdragon 855 när den sistnämnda släpps senare under året. LTE-modemet är också snabbt, men vi hade uppskattat stöd för fler frekvensband. Även om Galaxy S10-enheterna är de snabbaste telefonerna som stödjer WiFi 6 så slukade modemet i vår testenhet för mycket energi, vilket behöver åtgärdas.
Samsung Galaxy S10+ följer många moderna tekniktrender och bygger framgångsrikt in dem i ett välavrundad paket, men den lyckas inte riktigt vara telefonen alla andra kommer att försöka slå under 2019.
Vi tycker fortfarande det är anmärkningsvärt att den saknar stöd för aptX HD. Även om LDAX är ett ännu mer högupplöst kodek så är det vid skrivande stund få hörlurar som stödjer det, så det är synd att Samsung fortsätter att överge aptX HD. Samsung utrustar dock fortfarande sina flaggskeppstelefoner med hörlursanslutningar, vilket man inte kan säga om de flesta andra tillverkare.
Den ultraljudsbaserade fingeravtrycksläsaren fungerade också bra under våra tester, även med våta eller oljiga händer, vilket var imponerande. Slutligen så erbjuder den nya Galaxy S10-serien en extremt stor mängd minne som dessutom kan utökas med ett microSD-kort på upp till 512 GB. Du får dock vara beredd att betala en del pengar om du vill göra detta.
I slutändan så kommer Galaxy S10+ inte direkt med något nytt till denna redan överfyllda marknad. Vi misstänker att Samsung har sparat de riktigt innovativa funktionerna till Galaxy Fold. Även om detta inte bör förringa vad som redan är en utmärkt smartphone bör det stå som en varning innan du gräver djupt i fickorna för att skaffa Samsungs senaste flaggskeppstelefon.
