Omdöme – Riktigt bra, men inte bäst av de bästa

Det har nästan blivit en tradition att Galaxy S-telefoner är utmärkta toppskiktsenheter som inte riktigt kan hålla jämna steg med sina konkurrenter på alla de områden som rör vardagslivet för en smartphone. Som exempel går det långsammare att surfa på nätet, batteritiden är kortare, den tar längre tid att ladda, WiFi-prestandan är lägre och andra telefoner har mer lagring på samma prisnivå. Europeiska kunder med Exynos-baserade S20-enheter råkar värre ut eftersom de modellerna har lägre prestanda än sina Snapdragon-syskon, för att inte tala om mindre flexibelt 5G-stöd.
Men med det sagt är Samsung Galaxy S20 fortfarande en riktigt bra toppskiktstelefon med ett tunt och smalt hölje som verkligen kommer uppskattas av personer som har små händer. Den har dessutom en modern och nästan konservativ design samt låg vikt.
Den uppdaterade och tjusiga mjukvaran är kul att använda, den har stöd för ett riktigt brett utbud av LTE-frekvenser och har ett riktigt snabbt 4G- eller till och med 5G-modem. Kameran tar riktigt bra bilder, särskilt vid låg ljusnivå, och den senaste patchen löste många av de problem som rapporterats av tidiga användare. Den flexibla kameran med tre linser har en hybrid-optisk zoom som går att justera i detalj och även om kameran kan anses hålla genomsnittlig kvalitet i toppskiktssegmentet hindrade detta oss inte från att verkligen gilla den. Skärmen är återigen superb och kan lätt slå alla konkurrenter då både ljusstyrkan och färgprecisionen har förbättrats jämfört med föregångaren.
Vi uppskattade däremot inte de höga temperaturerna vid belastning och processorns rejäla värmestrypning. Det är verkligen synd med tanke på att S20 har kraftigt förbättrad batteritid.
Samsung Galaxy S20 har bättre batteritid, en extremt ljusstark skärm och bra kameror. Tyvärr har den också en egen unik uppsättning brister.
Sammanfattningsvis är Samsung Galaxy S20 en smartphone med en väldigt unik uppsättning brister och egenheter och den kommer få svårt att hänga med Huawei, Apple och OnePlus. Men om du inte är ute efter allra bästa prestanda, uppskattar en flexibel kamera och letar efter en kompakt telefon är Samsung Galaxy S20 definitivt värd att överväga.
