Med Galaxy S8 har Samsung skapat en suverän produkt som samlar ännu fler poäng än den större systermodellen Galaxy S8+. S7-serien var annorlunda, men nu är Plus-modellen tyngre och kan inte utnyttja sitt större batteri. Dessutom är fingeravtrycksskannerns positionering inte lika bekväm. Alltså kan man spara en tusenlapp om inte den större skärmen är ett måste.
Själva luren övertygar med snygg design och den nya Infinity-skärmen imponerar med exakt färgåtergivning, hög ljusstyrka och få reflektioner, vilket också är höjdpunkten i Galaxy S8. Den nya processorn levererar också en prestandaökning och en Gigabit LTE-modul är installerad. Men det är synd att Samsung inte säljer en dual-SIM-variant på våra breddgrader.
De olika säkerhetsfunktionerna är ett annat plus, men ansiktsigenkänningen bör inte användas om telefonen verkligen måste vara säker – metoden är lätt att lura. Tyvärr är assistenten Bixby fortfarande ofullständig.
Vi skulle allmänt önska att Samsung gav sina konsumenter mer frihet. Till exempel kommer 128 GB-modellen (med 6 GB RAM) inte att lanseras i Europa. Kunder utanför Asien kan heller inte välja bland alla tillgängliga färger.
Hursomhelst har Samsung lyckats riktigt bra med att uppgradera sin premium-smartphone. Galaxy S8 övertygar med snygg design, en lika bra kamera som tidigare, mycket bra batteritid och en utmärkt skärm.
