Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium är en riktig tungviktare, något som gäller både fysiskt och för dess hårdvara. Vårt enda klagomål på hårdvaran är att Sony har valt att utelämna en hörlursanslutning.
UHD-skärmen bör tilltala den som strömmar mycket film och vill uppleva sitt innehåll i högsta möjliga upplösning. Det är dumt att Netflix och Amazons utlovade UHD-stöd för tillfället inte fungerar på en av de få enheter som har 4K-stöd, men det är svårt att säga vems fel det är. De dynamiska vibrationerna är definitivt en trevlig funktion, men Sonys beslut att begränsa dem till endast musik och video gör funktionen till ganska mycket av en gimmick. Dessutom tenderar vår testenhet att vibrera iväg längs platta ytor när den spelar musik med dynamisk vibration aktiverad.
Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium följer designuppfräschningen från XZ2 och lyckas med att leverera en upplevelse som i huvudsak känns som att den kommer från ett flaggskepp, om än med ett par brister. UHD-skärmen bör få en del entusiaster att reagera.
Den stora 16:9-skärmen och en kraftfull SoC bör göra smartphone-gamers nöjda samtidigt som ljudentusiaster kommer uppskatta det högupplösta ljudet och stödet för populära kodecs som kompletterar XZ2 Premiums underhållningsfunktioner. Enheten har dessutom bra kameror även om de inte kan matcha de bästa telefonerna på marknaden. På samma sätt ser videoinspelningarna bra ut, men det bör vara mer effektivt med EIS i UHD-läge.
En stor nackdel med XZ2 Premium är batteritiden. Vår testenhet har sämre batteritid än sin föregångare trots att den har ett större batteri. XZ2 Premium hamnar även efter den batteritid som våra jämförelseenheter kan uppnå. Vi misstänker dock att den undermåliga batteritiden kan förbättras med en mjukvaruuppdatering. Sony Xperia XZ2 Premium kan vara en utmärkt kollega i vardagen om du kan förlåta dess stora fotavtryck och undermåliga batteritid.
