Xiaomi har skapat en av årets mest prisvärda smartphone-modeller, något vi inte hade förväntat oss med tanke på tidigare Mi-enheter. Vi skulle till och med rekommendera att uppgradera från Mi 6, så mycket förbättringar och förfiningar har Mi 8.
Om du ställs inför frågan om vilken version av Mi 8 du bör välja är vårt svar tydligt: Välj den vanliga Mi 8, särskilt då den för tillfället är 2.000 kronor billigare. Även om vi bortser från prisskillnaden är Mi 8 den bättre telefonen tack vare överlägsen batteritid och en pålitligare fingeravtrycksläsare. Xiaomi Mi 8 Explorer Edition kommer få omgivningen att reagera med sin slående baksida, 2 GB extra RAM och innovativa biometriska tekniker. De sistnämnda är dock inte snabbare än de mer traditionella motsvarigheterna som Mi 8 använder.
Du kan inte misslyckas med Xiaomi Mi 8, men det är inte årets bästa smartphone.
Oavsett om det rör Explorer Edition eller inte är Mi 8 en imponerande och lyxig smartphone. Men enheten saknar en del för att vara en toppskiktstelefon från 2018. Kamerorna, högtalarna, mjukvaran, GPS-mottagaren och avsaknaden av både IP-certifiering och trådlös laddning skiljer Mi 8 Explorer Edition från dyrare flaggskeppsenheter. Detta är acceptabelt med tanke på vad Explorer Edition kostar, särskilt då Xiaomi har gjort mycket rätt med denna enhet.
