Billiga kinesiska smartphones har tidigare varit svåra att rekommendera, men stora tillverkare som Huawei och Xiaomi har visat ganska snabbt att man inte behöver spendera mer än 2-3 000 kronor för en helt ny och helt pålitlig smartphone.
Redmi 3 känns mindre som en leksak och mer som en solid modell i mellanklassen, utan brister på några viktiga områden som bildkvalitet, byggkvalitet eller batteritid. Istället utmärker sig Xiaomi Redmi 3 i några kategorier, inklusive den ovanligt ljusstarka bakgrundsbelysningen och den långa batteritiden.
Vad gäller hårdvaran så är det än så länge svårt att hitta en smartphone med både 2 GB RAM och en Snapdragon 616-processor för motsvarande pris. Vi är lite besvikna över bristen på 1080p, NFC, USB Typ C, och ett löstagbart bakstycke, men i övrigt är den en värdig efterföljare till Redmi 2 på alla sätt.
Med Redmi 3 sparkar Xiaomi igång det nya (kinesiska) året med en av sina bästa mainstreamlurar hittills. Framförallt bakgrundsbelysningen och batteritiden är exceptionella, även jämfört med smartphones i helt andra prisklasser.
