Redmi 8, som på papperet påminner mycket om Redmi 8A, är en betydande uppgradering från sitt syskon trots att de ser nästan likadana ut. Den förstnämnda har inte bara bättre kameror och en bättre högtalare utan också bättre anslutbarhet och en märkbart bättre skärm. Även om vi rekommenderade den billigare Redmi 8A när vi recenserade den så ger Redmi 8 ännu bättre valuta för pengarna. För att sammanfatta så sätter Xiaomis senaste Redmi-telefon en ny standard för telefoner under 1.200 kronor, särskilt eftersom den inte har några större brister.
Däremot har Xiaomi ändå fått kompromissa med en del saker, föga förvånande med tanke på enhetens låga pris. Redmi 8 är och förblir en instegstelefon. Således har Xiaomi utrustat den med en svag SoC, en lågupplöst skärm, eMMC-flashlagring och en långsam WiFi-modul. För bara 300 kronor mer är Redmi Note 8 ett värt alternativ till Redmi 8 då den erbjuder betydligt bättre prestanda för en väldigt liten prisökning.
Xiaomi Redmi 8 har mer än de flesta telefoner för under 1.200 kronor. Om priset är en begränsande faktor när du letar efter en ny telefon är Redmi 8 ett bra alternativ.
