So concluding this review, the Vivo V23 Pro is certainly a unique phone for the price with its distinctive design and a reliable selfie camera. In my opinion, it is a fairly balanced device. I mean, besides the excellent design and selfie camera, it also has a great display, decent performance, a good enough battery life, while the rear camera arrangement is pretty solid as well—apart from a few hiccups here and there. However, I do wish that Vivo had gone with a 120Hz refresh rate screen, provided better haptics, and included OIS support which would have elevated the experience even more. And yes, I definitely think it is priced a bit higher too. Of course, you can get some discounts in the offline market and catch some deals online too. But not everybody gets that, so that’s something to consider as well.

Starting at ₹38,990 (roughly $520) in India, the Vivo V23 Pro isn’t a particularly affordable phone. It has a lot going for it to justify the price tag, none as much as the flagship-grade chipset and excellent selfie camera, but the price-cutting measures that Vivo has implemented means it leaves something to be desired in certain areas. The lack of stereo speakers, official water resistance, and OIS is a big letdown. Overall, the Vivo V23 Pro is a decent option in this price range but you might find better all-around phones if you look more in-depth. If photography and performance are all you’re looking for, then this phone will not disappoint you.

Priced at Rs 38,990 (8GB + 128GB), and Rs 43,990 (12GB + 256GB), the Vivo V23 Pro is a tricky phone to recommend when the OnePlus 9R or even Vivo’s X60 series, especially one of my favourite X6O Pro can be purchased by spending a few more bucks. That said, for someone with a good front camera as a key requirement, this is indeed one phone that can be considered. Overall, it looks a bit pricey but then you have a balance of both style and performance.

Vivo V23 Pro is the first smartphone with a rear color change feature. If the color-changing features, curved screen, and flagship performance appeal to you, then you can choose to buy this phone. But the camera isn’t that great, especially in this price range. The main camera and selfie are amazing, but if you need a better optical zoom and a telephoto camera, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G is the phone for you, and it’s almost the same price range. But the Vivo V23 Pro’s selfie camera is far superior. Overall, the price, new color change feature, and spaces are acceptable. If you’re okay with the battery capacity and no reverse charging and wireless, you can definitely opt for the Vivo V23 Pro smartphone. So whether this phone is the right phone for you or not depends on what you want from a smartphone.

Overall, the Vivo V23 is a decent phone. Its screen is very good, and the performance and battery life are more than adequate. Despite the high megapixel count, the camera struggles when it cones to more challenging light conditions. The Vivo V23 Pro offers a great screen and excellent performance for the money. In general, the camera is very good, too, albeit with a couple of blind spots. Overall, though, it remains a good-value package.

The V23 Pro is a solid mid-range phone, but it's a shame that 'solid' is about as good as it gets. It's particularly disappointing that the V21's USP - its optically stabilised selfie camera - hasn't returned. The dual-lens setup here is fine, but nothing special, and never feels like a significant upgrade on other selfie cameras around the same price. Good specs and decent battery life certainly help, as does the phone's eye-catching design and slim build. They make the V23 Pro a well-rounded and competitive package, but other than the aesthetic there's simply not quite enough here to make this phone stand out.

For anyone looking to buy a slim and light smartphone, or in search of the latest available serving of Android, the Vivo V23 Pro could be attractive. Its colour-changing back panel is quite unique, and it's one of the very few smartphones with a curved-edge display in this segment. However, it's not for everyone, especially those who want good gaming performance and battery life. The V23 Pro has stiff competition. Having reviewed the Realme GT (Review) and the iQoo 7 Legend (Review), I can confidently say that iQoo has the best cameras of the three. There are also other smartphones at this price point such as the OnePlus 9R (Review), Xiaomi Mi 11X Pro (Review) and the recently launched Xiaomi 11T Pro (First impressions), which offer better gaming performance than the Vivo V23 Pro. All these competitors also have stereo speakers and AMOLED displays with 120Hz refresh rates. The Mi 11X Pro even has an IP53 rating. While the cameras of the Vivo V23 Pro are quite reliable for stills, recorded videos need a lot of work.

Vivo has definitely tried to bring something new on the table with Vivo V23 Pro. The colour-changing glass on the back, dual-tone LED lights and a slim, light-weight body with a bezel-free front. The smartphone justifies the legacy of the Vivo V series with an impressive camera, especially at the front. Battery life and its fast-charging abilities add to the overall performance of the device. Vivo V23 Pro comes in two models – 8GB+128GB and 12G256GB priced at Rs 38,990 and Rs 43,990. This may seem a bit costlier when compared to the rivals like the Xiaomi 11i HyperCharge which comes with a starting price of Rs 26,999. The phone’s predecessor, Vivo V20 Pro, too was priced at Rs 29,990 onwards. Nevertheless, Vivo V23 Pro is a good choice for those looking for reliable performance with one of a kind colour-changing feature.

The Vivo V23 Pro 5G meets most of its claims. It features a trendy design, good performance, and a good camera, though it could have been better in different cases. Where I believe it falls short is in the battery department. However, this, too, will be depending on the user's day-to-day usage. There are probably better options in this price range, but if you value "cool" and want to stand out from the crowd, the Vivo V23 Pro 5G is the smartphone for you. The phone's colour-changing rear panel is the icing on the cake.

The vivo V23 Pro is a bit of an odd device when it comes to a final verdict. On the surface of it, its MSRP does seem a bit high for what it offers, making some omissions, like official ingress protection and OIS, to name just a couple, stick out that much more. As we outlined in the previous section, you can easily get a better overall "value", well-rounded mid-range device for the same price or less. Like we said, when you put all of this together, you end up with a truly unique device, quite unlike most of its competitors. If this particular mix of features sounds appealing to you, then you can rest assured that the vivo V23 Pro is also well-rounded in most other aspects and will deliver an excellent experience. However, if you don't necessarily prioritize selfies, you can probably find better value devices elsewhere.

The Vivo V23 Pro was released in January 2022, and the expected price of the phone is roughly $560 (Rs 41,999 in India) approx. As far as the primary specs are concerned, you are getting a 6.56-inches AMOLED panel with HDR 10+ and 90 Hz refresh rate display. Following, you will receive a dual-camera setup on the front display, which includes 50MP primary and 8MP ultra-wide lenses. Also, the back panel changes its color when exposed to sunlight, while it also attains a triple camera island that leads by the 108MP primary shooter, 8MP ultra-wide, 2MP macro with a 4K video recording, and gyro-EIS. Under the hood, the phone is powered by a 6nm – MediaTek MT6893 Dimensity 1200 5G chipset that provides a Mali-G77 MC9 GPU support. Also, you are getting the software layering of Android 12 based on the Funtouch 12 interface skin. The Li-Po 4300 mAh battery grants decent screen time while offering 44W fast charging support. There are shade options like Sunshine Gold and Stardust Black.

The Vivo V23 Pro is priced at Rs 38,990 for the 8 GB/ 128 GB variant, with the 12 GB/ 256 GB variant priced at Rs 43,990. That does make it a little expensive when compared to other phones running the same processor, most notably the OnePlus Nord 2 and the Poco F3 GT, both of which are priced below Rs 30,000. It will also have to contend with the likes of the OnePlus 9 RT, the Mi 11X Pro, and the iQOO 7 Legend, all of which are priced in the same range but come with the flagship Snapdragon 888 processor and displays with higher refresh rates. The Vivo V23 Pro, however, is not really for spec chasers. It is more for those who want a phone that is a steady rather than spectacular performer, is very flauntable, and ticks the camera (especially the selfie camera) and curved display boxes.

The Vivo V23 Pro delivers on most of the claims it makes. It has a stylish design to offer, the performance is more than adequate, and the camera performs well, though it could be better in some situations. Where I feel it is a compromise is on the battery front. But again this too will depend on each user’s day-to-day usage. The lack of a microSD card might also make this a no-go for some users. But the price of Rs 38,990 (for the Pro variant) does mean the phone will have a tough time in the market. There’s the OnePlus Nord 2 which has the same processor is available at a starting price of Rs 29,999. So does the Poco F3 GT and both are capable devices. The premium price you are paying is for the style and the dual-selfie cameras, so keep that in mind.

The Vivo V23 Pro in its attempt to justify its flagship tier pricing ends up offering flagship-like specs from last year. However, the overall user experience is far from the experience you get with the Vivo X70 or the older X60 series. FunTouch OS is the biggest culprit here and Vivo needs to amp up its efforts to get the software right at all costs. The competition from Oppo, Samsung, Realme and Motorola has gone up by a notch in this regard. The rest of the phone, however, is fantastic to use. The selfie camera performance is great, especially for what you pay for the phone. The Dimensity 1200 keeps everything chugging along fast and smooth. The display is nice to look at, although a 120Hz refresh rate should have been standard here. And most importantly, it commands attention with its beautiful design and that colour changing rear. Should you buy the Vivo V23 Pro? The answer is a confident “yes” but only if you care highly for selfies and a very flashy design. For everything else, the Samsung Galaxy S20 FE 5G at ₹36,950 is still our top recommendation.

The Vivo V23 Pro is the best V-series smartphone I have used so far. It packs tons of features to compete against arc rivals from other brands. Of course, the colour changing back panel is unique and something that can put a smile on your face with its trick almost every time. Apart from the design bit, it packs the first 50-megapixel selfie camera along with a 108-megapixel primary rear camera. And, the cameras are capable enough. The dual-tone spotlight feature at the front stands out. In addition, the MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor does a reasonably good job of keeping things up and running. But the main question comes - is it worth the price? At a starting price of Rs 38,990, the V23 Pro is a good sub-Rs 40,000 smartphone. But then, I have to admit that other MediaTek Dimensity 1200 processor phones are available at lower price points. This makes the V23 Pro look slightly pricier than other phones like the OnePlus Nord 2 and Poco F3 GT. But, of course, if you want an excellent camera capability, then the V23 Pro beats the competition and justifies its price.

The Vivo V23 Pro starts at Rs 38,990 for the 8GB RAM variant, and buyers eyeing the 12GB model will have to shell out Rs 43,990. For the price, the smartphone brings some innovative features to the table, including a colour-changing back, as well as a capable set of selfie cameras. That said, the smartphone’s pricing pits it against more powerful and feature-rich devices backed by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 888 processor. The iQOO 7 Legend, for instance, retails for around the same price and offers better performance, more capable rear cameras, and much faster wired charging. Consequently, I’d recommend the V23 Pro to ardent selfie enthusiasts. For everyone else, the market is ripe with more well-rounded options.

The Vivo V23 Pro, just like the previous models in the V series, is all about a slim design and selfie cameras. However, this time Vivo has added a MediaTek Dimensity 1200 SoC and a 108-megapixel rear camera to the mix to make things more interesting. While I do expect better performance in comparison to the Vivo V20 Pro (Review) and the V21, the V23 Pro will have to take on mid-range devices like the OnePlus Nord 2 (Review) and the Poco F3 GT (Review) along with some premium smartphones like the Galaxy S20 FE (Review) (and the upcoming Galaxy S21 FE). Vivo has also incorporated Android 12 into its custom Funtouch OS 12 skin, so it will be interesting to see how Google's Material You design philosophy merges with Vivo's Funtouch OS. Stay tuned to my full review, which will be out soon.

So who should buy the Vivo V23 Pro? If you are someone who’s looking for a new phone for under Rs 40,000, the V23 Pro is the newest kid on the block with its colour-changing back panel and powerful Dimensity 1200 chip that performs efficiently in day-to-day use. The main camera can produce some good-looking images but the other two sensors need more tuning to create usable pictures. The curved display looks and feels great in the hand but it might take some time to get adjusted to the wide notch cutout on the top. That said, you won’t face any problems if you like to watch videos only on YouTube. And if your selfie game is strong, you’d absolutely love the dual selfie cameras of the V23 Pro. I'd also like to add here that the Funtouch OS 12 has been refined and works well without causing any unnecessary lags or errors. At its asking price starting at Rs 38,990, the V23 Pro enters the affordable flagship domain which lowers its price to performance ratio. Even the maxed-out V23 Pro with 12GB RAM breaches the 40k-mark which isn’t justified for the value you are getting out of the phone.

ARM Mali-G77 MP9:
