Starting at Rs 49,999, the Vivo V40 Pro is priced a few notches higher than its predecessor. But this price hike is justified with some meaningful upgrades, including the addition of stereo speakers and a much better IP rating. The Dimensity 9200+ chipset is the dark horse that surprised us with its performance, outscoring Snapdragon 8s Gen 3 phones like the Realme GT 6 and Xiaomi 14 Civi in benchmarks. The V40 Pro’s pricing could deter potential buyers, especially when you have phones like the Realme GT 6 and Xiaomi 14 Civi available at a cheaper price point. That said, the Vivo V40 Pro offers a complete package that includes a big and bright display, sturdy and light design, impressive performance, terrific ZEISS-backed cameras, and a dependable battery life. It is truly a worthy successor to the V30 Pro.

Vivo is back with a new V series just four months after the launch of its V30 series. The new phones are called the Vivo V40 and the V40 Pro, respectively and are priced between the mid-range and the premium smartphone segments. We have the Vivo V40 Pro with us, which packs top-end hardware and also looks the part when it comes to premium design. The phone is priced at Rs. 49,999 for the base 8GB RAM + 256GB storage variant and Rs. 55,999 for the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant. While the typical V series smartphone has always been about slim designs and aesthetics, Vivo took a slightly different approach with its V30 series, focussing on better camera hardware. With the V40, it now appears that it's aiming to be an all-rounder, with a focus on performance and battery life as well. So, let's take a closer look at what's new.

Det är baserat på den tredje generationen av ARM:s Valhall-arkitektur och har 15 % högre prestanda än den tidigare generationen. G715 är den första mobila GPU:n med hårdvarustöd för ray tracing och har även stöd för VRS (Variable Rate Shading).

Det här är mindre avancerade grafikkort för användare som ändå vill kunna spela spel. Nya spel bör vara spelbara, men ofta bara med låga detaljinställningar och låg upplösning. Eftersom moderna grafikkort i den här klassen har låg strömförbrukning kan även batteritiden vara bra.
